You've been listening to too much alex jones So haven't I but I just do it for entertainment purposes, only Hotwater
I prefer the term Sheeple. Oh hey I didnt know there was a wiki for that term lolol... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheeple
For me, and I'm guessing at least a few others, it's not that you use the word sheep, it's the fact that you assume anyone who doesn't share the same radical (or paranoid, whichever you'd prefer) viewpoint as you is an idiot. You assume that anyone who doesn't share your view is just someone too stupid or lazy to think for themselves, and they are just repeating what they have heard in 'the media' (ignoring the fact that even within the big media organizations there is a wide variety of opinions). Your assumption that you are enlightened and that the majority of people are just inferior to you is what gets to me. Remind me again why we should listen to you over anyone else? And the red part - what are you trying to say there?
totally not what i meant. anyone who throws the word sheep around is obviously a little too wrapped up in what others are doing, and/or they're just trying to sound self important
I don't like the term sheep because it's rude and divisive. Someone who is so in tune with the evils of the world should know better than to fall into that trap. The absolute best way you can fight the powers that be is to show love and compassion for others and create a sense of community.
When you say sheep, of course people are going to get offended. Very few people 'want' to be sheep, everyone likes to think they're free-thinking individuals.... though I've known some Christians who very eagerly tote the label willingly.
In general terms, sheep tends to be used in a condescending way. Most people do not care to be talked down to. It tends to negate the intent of communication. Eggsprog, excellent post!
