Those quotes are from the Old Testament which most Christians do not focus on. The New Testament they do, which was in Jesus's time. They New Testament is what they mostly follow. Leviticus was not a profit and the book of numbers is the third book in the Torah

2) She was plastered out of her gourd
3) She was dressed provocatively
4) She was walking through a seedy high crime neighborhood at midnight

It pains me that the same attitudes that existed in the 1970's, when I was raped, continue today 47 years later. My situation was not all that different. I was alone. I was living in a bad neighborhood. As a single self supporting young woman it was all I could afford on the wages I was earning. I did have a couple beers that night and was wearing a nightgown (more likely flannel, unlikely provocative.) I was sound asleep in my bed.

Rape is not about sex. It is about taking advantage of a vulnerable person. I can honestly say that the event has affected my whole life. I do not trust anyone. I still live alone. I was never able to trust another enough to come close to having a normal loving relationship. I wish people could get that being raped changes who you are.
