Escape from New York (1981) was a good prison movie along with Brubaker (which was a little too preachy)
and of course the gold standard Cool Hand Luke

I doubt you watch it every 6 months.

Its a good movie, but a slow burner.

I could only go back to it once every 5 years or so

I don't dislike it, but I don't exactly like it either.

Wouldn't be in my top 10, 20, or maybe even top 50. I've got nothing against the movie, just not one I watch all that often.

The original title of the novella was Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.

Stephen King really struck gold with his collection of four short stories which included The Body which was adapted to film in the movie Stand by Me,
and Apt Pupil which was also adapted to film.

The book version of Apt Pupil was much better than the screen adaptation, and a few of the boys in the shower scene tried to sue the film company
and the producers because they were underage.

i see commercials now for a new Papillon movie...i doubt it will be as good as the original

also i like this prison movie because it combines the charles bronson type revenge with prison
