Do you shave or wax? Give reasons. :)

I've been waxing since I was 14. Sure, you get instant gratification from shaving (20-30 minutes for shaving, but it takes me nearly 2 hours to do a thorough leg wax), but I think my skin is healthier because I wax. Girls I know, and even some guys, think I'm a beast because I do it myself, but I barely even feel it anymore.

Besides, taking a razor blade to the surface of my skin kind of freaks me out.

Yeah, the first time I waxed, I swore I'd never do it again. But then my mother stopped buying my razors, so I could either steal my own razors or keep waxing.

Shave... if I think about it!

Waxing seems too painful and I don't see the point in spending that money.

Can you buy the strips and wax in supermarkets, or do you have to go to a salon or beauty supply store? You need some kind of brush to apply the wax also, right? I want to try this waxing thing...

I shave, but I honestly don't always think to. The hair on my legs is such a fair color that you can't even see it unless you look for it. I shave my armpits, though, because armpit hair is nasty. I wish men would shave their armpits.

I shave my legs but I wax the other bits. I couldn't stand having to let the hair grow on my legs long enough to wax.

I do both, same as Tallulaberry.

You can buy the strips and wax anywhere cosmetics are sold. For your first time, I suggest purchasing strips that already have a thin layer of wax on them.

If you buy the strips and wax seperately, all you need is a popsicle stick to apply a thin layer of wax to your skin. Be sure to read the instructions before starting out. It will make the experience a lot less uncomfortable.

Thanks Elle. I've only ever shaved, but I'm excited to give waxing a try. The idea has always intimidated me, but if so many women do it it can't be too bad. :p

You can always get it done at the salon for the first time. Watch how she does it and go from there.

    Glad I could help. :)

That's actually not a bad idea, Smelly D. I just looked it up to see what the heck you were talking about, and it appears to be easy and cheaper. And with sugaring there's no need for the strips. hmm...
