Don't know if this was ever shown in the US, but the 'Sharpe' TV series, made back in the 90's, based on the novels by Bernard Cornwell, starring Sean Bean as the eponymous British Rifleman in the peninsular war was one I recently re-viewed and enjoyed very much. A little bit fanciful in some ways, it was also quite accurate historically in others. I think Bean played the character of Sharpe just about to perfection, and the rest of the cast were also very good. In the end, when Hagman and Harris are killed at Waterloo it brought tears to my eyes. Over the hills and far away.... Good stuff.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ECvF86vl9I"]Sharpe's Rifles Episode 1/14 - YouTube
I remember seeing the SHARP series on US television a couple of decades ago but not which network it was on. It may have been PBS. I loved it so much I bought the entire series when it came out on DVD and also loved the theme music so much I bought the CD soundtrack when it came out. So many great British actors were in that series
I am sharp My main gripe is the French Cavalry uniforms were miles out in both colour and style . The Waterloo episode being the exception . But yes I enjoyed the series and still watch it over again as I am a History Buff and Wargamer .
