I love reading stories about other people's paranormal experiences. So, like the title says....share one! I have quite a few, but mostly from when I was a kid. Must recently: Ever since my friend passed last June, the lightbulbs go out in my house really frequently, but only when I'm standing underneath them. A single one hasn't gone out unless I'm standing under it. I like to think she's paying me a visit when it happens.
THERE WAS A PERIOD A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I HAD VERY DISTURBED SLEEP.I was living in a Victorian house in East London at the time.I would fall into very intense and strangely vivid dreams the moment I dropped off to sleep, followed by a falling sensation and then an abrupt awakening. The most "paranormal" experience I had during this time was a very visceral sensation of someone's fingers tapping on my chest. This continued on and off for several weeks until I left the house.I was never happy there. The fingers thing really freaked me out.
We have a ghost in our house. It hangs out in our hallway upstairs and on our stairs. We can hear it walking up and down the stairs all the time. Since we moved in 10 years ago I have never felt alone in our hallway. I never said anything to anybody about it. About a year after we moved in my husband said "Do you ever feel like you are going to run into someone in the hallway upstairs?" It's weird that both of us have that feeling. That was when we started hearing the footsteps. We had a friend spend the night a few years ago. We hadn't told her about it. The next morning she told us she got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and was scared of the hallway because she thought someone was there with her so she ran back to the bedroom. 3 different accounts of the same thing without discussing it. Coincidence??? I was standing at the top of the steps one morning putting on my mascara in the mirror (I don't know why I used that mirror) and I heard the steps RIGHT BEHIND ME. Usually I'm downstairs when I hear it. This was literally 2-4 feet behind me that I heard it. I turned around and there was nothing there but it was LOUD. Another time about a year ago my dad, step mom, husband and I had just gotten home from going out to eat. We walked in the back door and stopped there to talk. All of a sudden we heard a cough come from upstairs. All of us stopped and looked at each other like "Did you hear that too?" My step mom said "Did someone just cough upstairs?" I told her it was probably the ghost. Freaky shit.
Holy shit....of all the crazy experiences I've had, nothing's ever touched me. That's creepy! I think the feeling of a presence scares me more than audible noises. I would probably never walk in your hallway lol.
It's not a scary feeling. I've never felt threatened. It just always feels like someone is there. I've also felt something touch my back when I've been at work countless times. Sometimes to the point that I turn around because I think someone is there touching me it feels so real.
Definitely post those. We were out for drinks with one of my guy's lady friends, and she showed me a picture she took of her two dogs sitting on the couch....and there was very visible face behind the couch. Creepy shit.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Two of my friends separately went to see a female psychic. The psychic said she saw "nothing" ahead for the 1st friend. He went home and was a bit spooked. "What does she mean, she can't see anything for me". My 2nd friend then went to visit the same psychic. She told my 2nd friend that he would soon lose someone "as close as a brother". The 2nd one was plagued with strange, spooky dreams about the 1st friend. The 1st friend then died in a terrible accident. The 2nd friend then started suffering a terrible illness. He was plagued with "prophesies and visions". He eventually lost the ability to walk. And eventually ended up "speakg in tongues" ie unable to speak properly. Doctors wholly expected him to die within a year. They just couldn't work out what was wrong with him. International experts were just baffled by test after test. I had this nagging feeling "nope, its not his time yet". He then made a massive recovery. And regained the ability to walk and talk. But still has the strange prophesies and visions. Sounds a bit far fetched you might think. But all this actually happened. Moral of the story? Hmm, maybe be careful what you mess round in??? : /
Hmm. That's the big question. Maybe I'll never find out for definite. In places where you can learn voodoo and stuff, the power of suggestion is very powerful and can actually cause death. Whether u accept the paranormal or not. I've heard a couple of psychics say that evil influences can attach themselves to the weak or the nervous. The 2nd friend does seem to have been "disturbed"/harmed by the psychic stuff. Since his unfortunate relapse, he does seem plagued by...shall we say, "strange influences". Indeed, the doctors staggering conclusion at one point was that his illness was "all in his mind". Yet before that, they were sure the scans/tests said cancer or B.SE. Why the 1st one died, I don't really know. Maybe the psychic reading numbed him a little, and that led to the chain of events causing his death. Infact, I think that is very likely. So to answer you, I'd think I'd say "most likely" the visit was the cause.
I LOVE stories like these, and maybe you have kinetic energy if you make light bulbs dance. They dance around here sometimes, too....I have seen 3 ghosts....actually I remembered a 4th the other day...so 4. I spoke of the 3 I saw somewhere else here before,, and the fourth was as a little girl, I was sleeping and woke up to see a girl riding a bicycle shadow on my wall....That was freaky....I always seem to see ghosts...Also, just before one of my cats died, I took a photo of him...a purple orb surrounded him in the photo....He disappeared, and for awhile every photo I took here had a purple orb in it....so many things....but never want to be long winded, so I will be back with more things, I am sure. Great thread!
