I have been listing to a lot of secret garden tunes lately because I have been ill and i find the music very healing and soothing. Ever since 2012 i have been in and out of hospitals and have had 3 surgeries. I have one more surgery before i am better and this kind of music soothes me from the pain.

Love Zappa's instrumental work, especially this song in particular - such a chill tune, chill pace, and has this jazzy vibe that's puts me in a good mood every time I hear it. Hope you'll enjoy.

This song came out in 1992, I was 17 at the time and was waiting for a date for a back operation, I was confined to lying on my back in our front room day after day in chronic pain. The Manics debut album and in particular this song got me through many low points during that time.

Massive Attack: Unfinished Sympathy Late 80's dance music had consisted of formulaic and rigid sounding catchy songs on the pop front that had primarily shaped the decade, but the emerging rave scene provided thumping blissed out hypnotic sounds in the form of house and acid house music and the squelching synths of techno that pretty much defied conventional song forms and were sonic fuel to the peak of the rapidly growing popular drug Ecstasy as well as other club drugs. As the decade turned, some sought to sonically access other elements of psychedelics and Ecstasy in particular, one notable effect of Ecstasy was the crash. Massive Attack were one of the pioneers in forming a different aspect of club music, branded as pioneers of 'trip hop' and 'chill out' music, songs like this I enjoy because it retains a more conventional song structure compared to most rave music while exhibiting the overwhelming emotionality of house music, the MDMA crash and provides it's own unique soulfulness.

My favorite track off New Order's breakthrough second album from 1983. I love the synths on here. The song is a dedication to none other than the late Ian Curtis.

The National make some very pedestrian music, but their material is very strong. They are like a more mature Interpol. I love the drums on this particular song, off my favorite album by the group, 2007's Boxer.

The closing song to one of my favorite albums.

It is a very sad, beautiful song.
