what's wrong w the national?
I've only heard a cpl songs of theirs and they're not bad...

 

Well, musically they sound alright but very pedestrian. It's just that their last three albums, beginning with Boxer, all sound the same, and Matt Berninger's lyrics are so cliched. They annoy the hell out of me and sound so syrupy and trite. There is something about their overall sound which I kind of like, yet it rubs me entirely the wrong way.

I do like a handful of their songs, though, even though the lyrics are still quite bad. Usually I can ignore the lyrics if the music is good, but Berninger's just stand out like a sore thumb.

I woke up yesterday at around 7:00PM. I worked last night.

 

Oh, you're pretty much on Dan's schedule then. Fun.

 

He works the graveyard shift, too, eh?

 

9 pm (unless he has to be in at 7 pm...which is about half the time) to 6 am. - Yeah.
6 days a week. Sun night thru Fri. night.
Then Saturday he sleeps a lil during day and at night...
It's a rather annoying schedule for trying to do anything with him that he's not falling asleep.
(I'm glad I have license back now because when he didn't sleep from working 10 hrs and then hours later I had to go somewhere his driving fucking scared me. Thank god that's over!)
