Rammstein was founded by guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe. At that time, he was heavily influenced by American music, especially that of Kiss. He envisioned something that would combine machines as well as the sound of hard guitars. The bands name was inspired by the giant doorstop type devices found on old gates, called Rammsteine. The extra "m" in the band's name makes it translate literally as "ramming stone". Rammstein released a greatest hits album titled Made in Germany 1995–2011 on December 2, 2011. Rammstein is mainly an Neue Deutsche, Industrial metal and groove metal band. However with this, most of their music such as Rammstein - Sonne contains other kinds of genres such as Hard Rock, Heavy metal and techno, Also some goth, punk rock and pop genres are in some of Rammstein's songs. Their songs are usually in German, but they have also performed songs entirely or partially in other languages such as English, Spanish, French and Russian. These are three of my favorite songs from Ryuichi Sakamoto's second 'solo' album, Summer Nerves, released in 1979 on CBS. Accordingly, it somewhat resembles disco, however I'd say it's probably the strangest thing he's ever released aside from his first record released with Toshiyuki Tsuchitori in 1976 which is an entirely bizarre recording. Summer Nerves features Yukihiro Takahashi on drums as well as some ensemble (presumably formed and named for this record alone?) called Kakutougi Session, and the styles range from disco to reggae and somewhat resemble lounge music, and yet simultaneously is it psychedelic synth-pop. The second song I'm posting here features Ryuichi singing through a vodocer; the other two are chosen to represent what is to be expected from the rest of the album. Aura and I danced with the kids to the full record on Friday and although I enjoy his more purely electronic work a bit more, still this is wonderful. My copy of this LP came from the personal collection of Robin Lee Crutchfield, aka Dark Day, a brilliant 'dark wave' synth-pop minimalist who released two albums (one in 1980 and one in 1982) which were stunningly ahead of the time, and he went to the same high school as I did (one of them, at least). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecKsxZ8-4OA"]傿œ¬é¾ä¸€ï¼†ã‚«ã‚¯ãƒˆã‚¦ã‚®ãƒ»ã‚»ãƒƒã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³ - ニューãƒãƒ‹ã‚¢ãƒ³ãƒ»ãƒãƒƒãƒˆãƒ¯ãƒ¼ã‚¯ - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRDh6cd9vxI"]Ryuichi Sakamoto + The Kakutougi Sessions - Time Trip - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URfRKh5lYAg"]傿œ¬é¾ä¸€ï¼†The Kakutogi Session - Sleep On My Baby - YouTube
