....was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I'm normally not one to gloat, but I got to meet the man for all of ten seconds tonight. Enough time to look him in the eye and say its a pleasure to meet you and have a photo snapped. I'm sure some of you hate the man, but you can't deny the many positives he accomplished and continues to accomplish in this world. Every president this nation has known has been corrupt to an extent. You can find plenty of things to dislike about all of them. But, in my view of history, Clinton was one of the best we've had. He's a great man and meeting him was completely amazing for me. just thought I'd share
clinton....i give him lots of credit for my drug use he was supposed to speak at my middle school about lots of topics, including the perils of drug abuse...but he cancelled so i give him credit for me smoking pot
My brother shook George Bushes hand in the high school gym before the 2000 election...asked him some question about environmental policy still, he shook the hand of the most famous man in the world
In the view of recent history, yes Clinton looks good, but still, he wasn't really anything fantastic, just got a little lucky and was president during an economic boom decadant time
this thread reminded me when i was in like 7th grade or so, two of the Osmond Brothers came down to one of our radio stations. It was Alan and Merrill, anyways, of course i waited for them hoping it was Donny Osmond, it wasn't, but all the same, Alan touched my hand, and OMG, I dont think I washed that hand for like three days. I was thrilled to death.
I never knew there were more than just Donny See, now that is an exciting story, come one Bill CLinton, he's always in the car ahead of me at the McDonalds drive though
perhaps he was lucky and maybe I give him too much credit. I just really can't think of another time during the last hundred years where our country has experienced greater economic prosperity and relative peace at the same time. In my view, the years during the Clinton administration were some of the finer years this country has known during modern times. The fact that he was the guy at the top during those times, makes him a person worthy of tremendous respect and admiration for me. He was a great politician and I'm sure plenty of other presidents, especially the current one, would have taken the same lucky hand Bill was dealt and fucked it up.
yes, he didn't fuck it up, he wasn't socially conservative, and the Americorps program was great, and was destroyed when Bush took over i still think meeting Bush is far freakier, my brother said he seemed nervous
Bill Clinton is funny because they would always show pictures of him woofing down huge sandwiches and all kinds of yummy, greasy food. Then he had his heart problem and he is now the main person backing getting soda and vending machines out of schools. Okay, that's not so funny I guess but it's fairly ironic.
That's pretty funny you mentioned this. At the last hotel I worked at in Vermont, I hosted the Donny Osmond fan club. Donny was playing in town that night and well, he's got a DEVOTE fan club. 40 or so people, mainly women in their mid 40's, early 50's, rented out a banquet room in the hotel. They decked the entire room out with Donny cut outs and memorobilia, even had this huge sheet cake with Donny's mug right on it. They were convinced that Donny would stop by after the show. He didn't and the looks on these people's faces was so sad (for me amusing) when they packed it up at 1AM realizing he wasn't going to show.
that's what I was thinking looking at all of these crazed ladies. If perchance I'm still in the business, perhaps I will witness Justin Timberlake's fan club in 2030 and think the same thing.
