Salt and rubbing alcohol, in adequate amount and appropriate proportions to create a salt slush with some alcohol sitting on top. Then shake it up, covering the female joint with a finger, if you don't have a plug.

Works for percs, downstems, bowls and small pipes, just use plastic or fingers to cover the holes. Also helps to run hot tap water thru for a bit first, to soften things up.

Also about that color changing bong.... Don't. A bong hits MUCH better clean, and to change colors you need the inside all clotted with resin and nasty.

 

You can use uncooked rice in the water to kinda scrub the inside of the glass as you swirl the water/alcohol around.

They also make this stuff that they sell at head shops (here it's a purple liquid) that cleans your glass w/out scrubbing and you can pour it back in and re use in the future.

I am the same, I hate dirty bongs. They taste gross and smell. A clean fresh water bong is the only way to go.

Yeah, that's what the salt does too, acts as an abrasive. I used to use rice, but when I got a bong with a perc, I ended up with rice in my perc for like 2 months... Eventually i let it dry, and all the liquid had taken out enough mass that I could shake it out when it dried and shrank. But it forever slanted me against rice

If you want a non abrasive cleaner, I think Grunge Off is supposted to be where it's at. I'm not enough of a glass head to drop like 20 bucks on a bottle when 2 bucks at the dollar store gets me weeks worth of salt and alcohol, though.

i usually do use salt and rubbing alcohol but it wasn't working..anyways i'm goin to give that bong to my mom and i'm still getting the color chaning one[i'm not/wasn't goin to let it build up]it still looks nice when smoke fills it up i've had one before but i was tripping and i lost my grip :sad:
