Boy you're waaay off base on this.

The danger lies in that the adult industry in the United States uses
    1) The PCR/DNA test instead of the elisa. (However any positive is later verified by the elisa)

    2) The test is only as good as the day you took it. After taking the test a peformer can get infected and work between 15 or 30 days before taking another test.

    3) Tests are easy to fake

However HIV is statistically a very small risk with normal male to female sexual activity. Risky/crazy sex practices are far more problems. Things like ass to mouth.. bukkakes.. swallow videos, rough anal sex and the constant influx of new performers put the adult industry at risk.

The porn industry went from a high of 15 billion dollars in 2002 to now less than 5 billion because of tube sites and piracy. What sells today is the insane fucking bullshit and only bottom feeders make any money. Therefore the biggest problem to the adult industry is free porn.

Yeah, I'd agree that MonkJr is way off base, with the "quarterly profit margins" comment. I do however think you have PCR/DNA and ELISA tests flipped. PCR DNA is used, and that is what tests for the virus, not the antibodies, which is what takes months to show up. I think the type of tests performed are fine. Your other two points are correct in that tests can be faked, and tests are only 'fool proof' on the day of the test, but there have been studies that show that it takes days/weeks to have a communicable viral load, so even if it is contracted it may not be passed on before the next test, which should detect it.

There is no test in existance that tests for the actual presence of the HIV virus. The polymerase chain reaction test is a method of multiplying and mass-producing certain specific DNA segments. Early detection using PCR has the problem that recently infected people are low-titer infections. These infections are easily missed by PCR.

The other problem is the human body is filled with retro virus. Most researchers dispute if we have, thousands or hundreds of thousands or hundreds of millions in our bodies. Which creates a huge problem with similuarities.

These are the reasons why when a PCR test comes back positive... They verify it with an elisa.

Why doesn't unprotected sex frighten you?

For one I'm not reckless. I'm cautious about it. I use good judgement along with the experience I've gained over the years to help keep me safe. And I try to avoid things that exponentially heighten the risks of having unprotected sex.

It's not so much that I have no fear... I'm just not "paranoid" about it like a lot of people are ;).

PS. Most people really don't know that much about STDs and believe all the media scare tactics and hype that gets thrown at them.

Could not have said it better myself.
I don't like condoms and I resuse to use them. Instead I use my brain.
Good judgement and no reckless behaviour

My girlfriend and I have just started an erotica website, which will have tastefully done photo-series, original erotic art, erotic fiction, perhaps some well-done video clips, and a lightweigth section with erotic in-browser games and webcomics. In theory. Something along that line is possible.

As an example, here's the bare-bones beginning of our site. You could go for something like that, then you don't have to worry about getting involved with incorporated porn and managers and etc. and so forth and so on.

I see that seems to have been closed down as well. I know, from experience, that it's not easy finding ISPs (especially free ones) who are willing to host Adult Content. I had my own "Erotic To The End" site, which was merely a collection of erotica stories that I had written (no pictures or anything), made up of a combination of fiction, memories & fantasy, yet this site was closed due to the authorities clamping down on Adult oriented sites.

I've kept a copy of the site, with all the stories in case I eventually come across another site who will be able to host it.

Hosting is rather cheap nowadays. Just shell out the small amount for a shared server and you can host all the erotic content you want.
