as my wife is a health professional I know a little about this, I also have a friend who has had his prostate removed.

It's right that he will not be able to produce sperm, and often cannot get an erection. There are mechanical tools to enable those that can't.....u would need to google that for info. I think it's an implant.

    good luck and good sex.

    Simon :)

As a prostate cancer surgery survivor going on eight years, I know about life without a prostate.

There seems to be some confusion about the male semen development and delivery system.

Seminal fluid, the ejaculate, is produced in three different glands; the testicles (balls), prostate, and seminal vesicle. The testicles produce spermatozoa, which fertilizes the female egg. Sperm is transferred out of the testicles through two ducts or tubes, called the vas deferens, to the seminal vesicle ejaculatory ducts. (During a vasectomy, the vas deferens are cut and sealed to block sperm from leaving the testicles.) Sperm is only about five percent of seminal fluid, but contain about 80 million individual sperm.

The testicles also produce hormones, mainly testosterone. The hormone that makes men men.

The seminal vesicle fluid, about 65 precent of seminal fluid, contains proteins, enzymes, fructose, vitamins C and other components to nourish the sperm and keep it alive. Sperm, followed by seminal vesicle fluid flows to prostatic urethra.

The prostate gland produces prostatic fluid, which makes up about 30 percent of seminal fluid, is highly alkaline to neutralize the acidity of the vaginal tract and protect the sperm.

During ejaculation, smooth muscles in the prostate gland contract to expel the prostatic fluid first, then the sperm and finally the seminal vesicle fluid out the penis into the vagina.

So, without a prostate no prostatic fluid is produced and the muscles that cause ejaculation are missing, resulting in no semen.

Penile erection is necessary to deliver semen to an egg. On arousal, man’s brain sends signals along nerves to relax some penile muscles and contract others. The relaxed muscles allow more blood to flow into the corpora cavernosa, two hollow chambers that run from the shaft to the head of the penis. The contracted muscles block blood from leaving the chambers. This causes the penis to become erect, increase in length and width.

Often during a prostatectomy, removal of the prostate gland usually due to cancer, the nerves to the penis controlling the blood-flow muscles tare cut, which prevents erections and loss of sensation. Nerve-sparing surgery minimizes nerve damage with 88 percent of men able to achieve erection 12 months after surgery. Unfortunately, mine was not successful.

So theamos, if he is telling the truth, sex will be normal with less cleanup afterwards.

I had. Postdate cancer surgery 3 years ago , nerve saving type roboticaly done , it was not a thing I would go through again , blood vessels and some nerve were cut , so getting a hard on took a lot of work on my end. But I can only get to about 80% hard , and with the postdate gone , NO you will not cum, no pill on earth can bring that back..
For this alone my girl friend is over joyed ,lololol it did take a lot of work and excersize to gets to 80% and a lot of Viagra , now I don't use the blue pill , and have a really good sex life

My friend had his removed. He has now gained back after about a year a pretty good erection again. The blue pill helps too at times. He does hate the dry orgasms but it doesn't bother me too much. He still has plenty of precum.

A guy does not need to ejaculate to have an orgasm. So if he gets an erection he can still have an sexual intercourse and enjoy it A lot of it has to do with how in-tune you are with your body.

Orgasm and ejaculation are not the same phenomenon, hence the terms anorgasmia and anejaculation. He may well be able to have orgasm even though there is no ejaculation.

I know this is an old post but I can clear up the facts. I recently had what they thought were prostate issues due to what they call a PSA test which is a test to see if you have or could have prostate cancer. My test came back extremely high and I was told there was a good chance I had it. After several consults with doctors, I was told the worst case would be to remove the prostate. i had tons of questions and one was if i could still have sex. The reply was 'Yes of course. You just will not ejaculate like before. You will have the exact same sensation and feel like you are cumming but there will be no fluid at all." LUCKILY for me my issue turned out to just be a minor infection from bacteria that also raises a PSA test.

Wow, you dodged a bullet there. Another tidbit about the PSA test. I was told to "refrain" at least 48 hours before the test. Prostate activity can raise PSA numbers a bit. I had one the morning after I got back from an active vacation and it showed a jump in PSA, a repeat of the test showed me back in my normal range.

Yes an older bisexual friend of mine had prostate surgery. After that, His come always shot into His bladder. I don't know how the plumbing would do that but that was the outcome. Nothing emerged from his penis, coincidentally quite small. He was divorced. Maybe that's why. He played only with males after that.

So very true. I can no longer ejaculate, just produce a bit of clear fluid but still enjoy a wonderful orgasm from masturbation. Not that erect but stiff enough to stroke and enjoy.

But if you orgasm and don't ejaculate - do you still have a refractory period? Can you cum again quickly? The fabled male multiple orgasm......
