What would you do if you wanted a relationship and a sex life but you were being watched by your voices and you avoided sex for ten.years. What would you do please need all the advice I can get.
Sorry to hear that you are having this trouble. Are you seeing a therapist? They might be worth talking to. I recommend trying acupuncture and chinese herbal medicine, but it may be that this will be too expensive. Conventional medications might be worthwhile, but they often have side effects. Hope that things can get better soon!
Yes. You may want to read Leon Hammer's book, "Dragon Rises, Red Bird Flies" to learn more about the treatment of mental health problems with traditional Chinese medicine. http://www.dragonris...du/leon-hammer/ I would say that muscular or skeletal problems and pain respond the best to acupuncture. Traditional Chinese herbal medicine might be better for schizophrenia. I'm not saying that schizophrenia will necessarily respond very well to treatment with TCM. It will, however, address the root causes of the disease. My opinion is that TCM should be the first line of treatment for any chronic condition. Western psychiatric medicines address symptoms but don't cure conditions. They also often have significant side effects. Psychiatric medicines may be the only available or affordable treatment for the OP, so I would encourage her to take them. Meditating, and generally not thinking or talking too much might also be helpful for her condition.
Based on that logic, you would have to know the root cause of schizophrenia to be sure of that So, by all means share with us, what is that root cause?
I would have to be a doctor of oriental medicine to expound on the root cause of schizophrenia from the TCM perspective. What I can say generally is that western psychiatric (and other) meds: 1. Often produce significant negative side effects 2. Symptoms typically quickly return or become worse if treatment is ceased 3. Medications often cause withdrawal or addiction Those 3 things do not typically apply to well-practiced chinese medicine. That is the fundamental reason for saying that western psychiatric meds do not treat the root cause of disease, whereas chinese medicine does. I would by no means say that no one should take western meds for mental illness. I would say, however, that other modes of treatment should be tried first in most cases.
Do I know all aspects of how TCM describes schizophrenia? No. Do I know that TCM addresses the root causes of diseases? Yes. How do I know? Because it doesn't produce the three characteristics typical of western psychiatric drugs that I enumerated above.
I work with some TCM practitioners who are part of a healing team with western allopathic doctors, many for combined mental/physical ailments. Complimentary medicine seems to be working very well with these intractable cases.
