Do you have any sensory things that you just can't stand? Be it taste, smell, sound, texture, etc. For example--I hate the feeling of wool and fleece. I much prefer cotton clothing. Or goat cheese--if I eat a big piece of goat cheese it gives me this tickling feeling in my mouth that makes me shudder. I have a friend who can't stand the sound of people chewing, or of pencils tapping on a surface. What about you?
Clanging pots and pans and cutlery will do my head in, I learned that's because I have tinnitus and there's certain frequencies... like cutlery that can throw my mood instantly. Slamming doors too. Coriander, ugghhhh Eggs, Ugghhhhh Mushrooms too are a bit eww to me and actually, a lot of food I'd eat cooked or fried, I can't stand when boiled or steamed. Brussels sprouts too, yuck! I don't think I have any feelings towards clothing or textures, even though some rubber or latex can give me a reaction, but it seems as moody as my moods sometimes. I can't stand the smell of cooked cabbage either. Or raw chicken. And this one time, I ate a biscuit at school, it was a biscuit with caramel and colored sprinkles. But I got sick after it so I associate even the thought of that biscuit turn my stomach and gin for the same reason, though I was massively drunk on it haha.
Oh yes I'm neurotic as hell I dont like to hear people breathe which is problematic lol. I actually have to sleep with earplugs in because the bae will drive me nuts otherwise. And he doesnt even snore, he just breathes. And I cant deal with hearing people eat or any weird mouth noises Fabric wise it has to be cotton. I cant do any scratchy materials and I cant stand synthetic fabrics. I feel like I'm suffocating in synthetics.. And I have this thing with my toenails...if anyone touches them or even if they scrape against fabric it will leave me cringing for a good 20 minutes. My cat likes to come up and nuzzle my feet and occasionally touches my toenail while doing it..and..I just. Cannot. And I dont do well with a lot of different noises at once, like when I'm at a party and there's multiple conversations going on it drives me a little nuts
Scratching a chalkboard with my fingernails doesn't bother me, yet I can't eat a hard apple because of the feel. Someone at work offered me a ripe - but hard - apple not too long ago. My eyes literally rolled back in my head as I ate the last few bites. I couldn't throw it away because I was afraid she'd walk in and see it in my waste basket. Can't stand hearing people eat. Actually it's only certain eating sounds that bother me.
I sometimes hear static when lots of talking (louder than normal conversation level)and other noises are in the same room. But I sometimes listen to music - that I like - pretty loud.
I dont like going to the movie theater because the sound system is always way too loud, and I dont like when people talk loud, and a lot of other loud noises bother me.. but when I'm really into my music I just keep turning the sound louder and louder
Oddly enough, I hate silence. I can hear every little sound, no matter how insignificant. Plus my ears ring. I have to have some kind of white noise going on or it drives me a little nutz.
Drunks in the hallway or alley waking me up at 3:00am. Where I live its like living above a truck stop, with trucker's tailpipes right beneath my window and, one guy, blows his horn all the time at 4:00am. Between about 3:00am and 7:00am the traffic noise is awful and the garbage men show up.
I can attest to this too, so I tend to sleep with either the air con on low or at least a fan just for that white noise. There's some good white noise applications to help you sleep. I used to fall asleep listening to rains and thunderstorms every night to block out the tinnitus piiinnnnnnng. But they ruin your phone battery, so I had them on my old phone but then the battery dies and you have to find the right charger and well, I'll listen to my wife snore instead I guess..
it should definitely not be legal for the garbage men to be out before 9am. sounds like a marching band crashing their cymbals out there once a week at 5am.
I had to live to next a demolition zone once. Literally next door where I live 12 years ago, had a big house, demolition to make apartments. And I worked night shift to top it off. I used to get apologies from the trades folk when I came home at 730am. It was also embarrassing trying to do any workouts in my courtyard as the dickheads would be building a complex and looking down at me.
Food getting stuck on the roof of my mouth I used to despise swallowing pills, I've gotten slightly better with it but I'll opt for sublingual or mixing in a juice/drink if possible.
Mine is visual. I can't stand to see obese people using the Walmart scooters just because they're too fat and lazy to walk. Heck, if anyone needs to walk more, it's them.
Taste I can't stand=raw uncooked runny eggs Smell I can't stand=smoky clothing Sound I can't stand=my girls licking their paws at night Texture I can't stand=chicken or turkey grizzle Visuals I can't stand=animal neglect/abuse commercials
The banks have taken over Seattle and the 50 story builds going up make me wonder how they get all the steel into the city so fast. The city is replacing all their infrastructure in the process, and has signed a new deal with a cruise line for another million tourists a year, and has even rerouted traffic away from the shore and under the city. This is the future of any sizable city, routing more traffic underground and in the air, and installing modern utilities. I forget how far down all of NYC utilities go, but its around 18 foot, the granite bedrock. Just the crap underground is enough to make you go cross-eyed. Imagine the entire NYC by-pass along their shores vanishing and being replaced with tourism. Boston's already gone this way, and had a couple of cave-ins, which is sort of expected, because its so fucking long, and you tend to find out the hard way.
