Oh please. She OBVIOUSLY attacked the cop first, she was not cooperating what the hell else do you expect? When you're being talked to for JAYWALKING You accept the damn ticket and LEAVE you don't run your mouth and take out your own mistakes out on the cop. It's called accept, stfu, and sit down.

By the way "Angel" has previous charges for assault. The end.

That Punk-Ass Bitch COP didn’t realize that before he assaulted her for a MINOR indiscretion, and should be put on UNPAID administrative leave pending assault charges

If we all hate cops enough we should all find power-tripping, scared, rookie cops and run at them in a threatening fashion in the middle of a physical altercation. Then when we all get punched in the face they might be put on unpaid leave. Fuck them!

Yah really the cop obviously couldn't control his anger and also should be charged with assault n should be charged for being a punk ass pussy for hitting a 17year old girl in the face.

The point is that cops are held to a higher standard of self control. Our tax dollars pay their salary which includes training in non-violent take down techniques and crisis resolution. You or I might get pissed and lay somebody out who's slapping at us, but cops are supposed to be above that. They are paid to not take anything personally and supposedly undergo a mental screening for exactly that. We give them guns for christs sake so they damn well better be more proficient at impulse control.

The statement of "I woulda punched the bitch too"(loosely) has no merit because it's coming from a non-cop. Equaling the playing field between those who have been trained to deal with these situations appropriately and those who haven't doesn't fly. That cop is dead wrong and he knew it.

Jaywalking laws are complete and utter bullshit. The message they are really sending people is, "We will find something to bust you for if we have to. We are always in charge, and if we want to, we will prove it to you."

Actually the counter position to this is seriously enforced as well. A motorist is subject to heavy fine for not stopping when someone enters a crosswalk. In some cities, you take your life in your hands when you cross the street. It is a safety issue.

Canada's laws on this protect the person on foot, regardless of where they cross. As do the laws in California where they almost cost Reginald Denny his life. Three weeks ago one street over from where I live a teenager was biking in the oncoming lane at 11:00 at night when a motorcyclist hit and killed him. The motorist flew about 30 meters and was hospitalized. In this case the motorist wasn't charged however because that teenager was clearly lacking sufficient mental capabilities.

All this for a $42 ticket. That could of been then challenged instead of assault and resisting arrest?

I watched this video more than once. There were at least 20 spectators and 7 different voices that were injecting and making matters more volatile.

There was a man who literally was holding that woman back and she shook him off like a runt pup and went after the cop. The same man took her away after she hit him.

The original person he stopped was told by him to stop at least 9 times. She continued to put up a struggle.

One cop. One punch when he was grabbed and she pushed him. While he was still trying to subdue the original person who was being ticketed and who was still resisting. After she was led away she was told not to move, that is all. The original person who was stopped would not stop and was restrained. When trying to restrain her all he did was try to stop her arms and upper body from flaying around.

Sorry, but if I was on a review panel, I would not find fault with this officer, instead I would throw the book at the two women.

After seeing a girl get hit by a car going 45mph when she ran across the street jaywalking, I tend to support the law.

In some smaller areas, it's BS because there's not enough traffic to warrant a safety issue. I mean c'mon in a town with two stoplights .... In larger metro areas though, a free for all at the intersection isn't the sanest idea.

Then it’s a good thing you’re not on the review board because this pig should be on a skew

Exactly, such mundane laws arise from the few usually, not the many. It sucks that society has to 'police' common sense at times. Most people would be smart enough not to jaywalk into traffic, but there's always the one.

If that had been me, I would've just taken the ticket and moved on. There's much worse things to be talking to a cop about ;)

When the insurance company called me to verify what happened because I was the main witness(I was driving right behind the car that hit her) I asked how she was doing.
Shattered femur, fractured hip, pelvis, shoulder and skull, ruptured spleen, liver, and colon, not to mention all the external skin damage and roadrash.
That should be enough for people to understand the logic of such laws.
