This is my cry for help. How the fuck do I deal with this? It hit me last year around early March, and it knocked me on my ass. I didn't expect it to come around so early, but I am so fucking down in the dumps, and I need help.

Your body is receving less sunlight and metabolising less serotonin because of that. It's complely biochemical because of the reduced sunlight this time of year, and the fact that the sun seems to set an hour earlier due to the time change farce.

5-HTP is the metabolic precursor to serotonin 5-HT.

Take some of this in the morning, sit in front of a sunlamp for an hour, and do a little light exercise in the evening. You'll have your summer swagger back after a few days.

I'm pretty sure most tanning beds don't do shit regarding to vit D or decreasing seasonal depression. Most of them seem to have the wrong UV lamps for that. It will tan you but not do anything else.

I take a lot of vitamin D every day but it doesn't seem to help. I might look into getting one of those UV lights. I'm sure it's worth the money.

A holiday might be nice as well but we decided to stay home this christmas.......

I have been very manic lately too, and i dont know if my partner is depressed but he has definitely had lower energy levels since it started getting darker earlier. We're driving each other nuts, i''m going 150 mph all the time and hardly sleeping and he is just steady plodding along

It's a tough time of year for sure.

I was starting to sleep better after months of crappy sleep, but I'm now waking up every night around 2:30 and I can't seem to drift off again.

I think we need a new bed frame...

As others said, Vitamin D. Make sure it's D3 and eat it with a meal that has some fat in it, since it's fat soluble.

Also, change your lightbulbs from regular to daylight bulbs. Makes a big difference.

Fat Soluble? Really? I didn't know this. I eat a pretty low fat diet......I'll make some adjustments.

Good idea suggesting daylight bulbs. I'll pick some up ASAP.

    Thank you!!!!

    Have a beach party!

Turn up the heat, get a sun lamp, wear swim suits, slather on some great smelling lotion, spread beach towels on the floor, put some fake palm trees in the corners, play beach music, etc...
