Searching for the Sound: my life with the grateful dead
    -phil lesh

so i read this book recently and well tbh it almost totally blew my mind. to make things even funnier right after i got done reading it furthur happened to be doing a tour date relatively near my town. so i went. and guess where my seat ended up. in the phil zone! lol.

the book gives a brief history of the early 60's scene in california, the formation of the grateful dead, and their adventures with ken kesey and the merry pranksters -- and the use of psychedelics. it also talks about the rise and fall of haight ashbury, and when the grateful dead started touring -- the death of pigpen, the decline & struggles of the grateful dead, and the death of jerry garcia.

    anyone else read this book?

Have not read it, but it certainly sounds like an interesting read!
