They're not slaves, they're more like indentured servants. They have contracts to stay at sea. Trust me, they would rather do this than starve. You should have no qualms with eating delicious Thai ladyboy ass... ehh... I mean seafood.
Not the only reason I wouldnt eat seafood in Thailand, bit of a lottery Street sellers a better bet than the restaurants. Street sellers will usually go to the market in the morning and wont have enough money to buy more than a days produce. All of the bouts of food poisoning ive had there have been after eating in restaurants there
