How would you score religions that you know on a scale of -10 to +10? A negative score means that you would prefer being isolated to joining that religious community, and a positive score means that you would prefer joining that religious community to being isolated. Here are my scores from lowest to highest:

    Reform Judaism -10
    Modern Protestantism -8
    Atheism -7
    Islam -5
    Catholicism -2
    Orthodox Judaism +1
    Odinism (pagan) +2
    Orthodox Christianity +3
    Karaite Judaism +5

Please post how you would score the religions that you know.

Just throw me down as a -10 for all of them i would rather be isolated than join any group.

    Reform Judaism -3
Modern (Progressive & Mainline) Protestantism +10 (excluding fundamentalists, Evangelicals & Pentecostals; I'd give them a -20); this category it's really misleading!
Atheism -1 (But is it a religion?)
    Islam -10
    Catholicism -2
    Orthodox Judaism -10
    Odinism (pagan) -10
    Orthodox Christianity -5
    Karaite Judaism -10

    Reform Judaism - 1

Modern Protestantism -9 Would give -10 but it's good for people who need extra control in addition to secular laws to lead a moral life.

Atheism + 5 I considered myself atheist for years - I'm back to agnostic. At least atheist don't try to control people with guilt and fear.

Islam + 2 At least they don't seem as greedy and self centered as Christians.

Catholicism - 9 Most of the catholics I know are good people, but they each have enough mental hangups for for ten psychiatrists. It's sad that they have to go through it.

Orthodox Judaism. Not enough info for an opinion.

Odinism (pagan) +2 I don't believe In gods that interact with us or watch us. I kind of look at pagan gods like I do Hindu gods (my view of Hindu gods), as poetic, exaggerated representations of us and our mental states. That is a recent interpretation of mine from reading books and from other's interpretations on hf and other forums.

Orthodox Christianity +2 not as bad as other types of Christianity.

Hinduism +5 (+8 if you remove reincarnation and life after death, in some sects - Mimamsa and Samkhya seem somewhat agreeable to me).

Jainism +7 for some of the philosophy, 0 for a lot of the practices. Again, get rid of reincarnation.

Buddhism +9 (+10 without reincarnation, gods of some of the sects, and religious dogma). +10 for most of the philosophy (too many sects to give overall ratings). Zen Buddhism could range from +5 to +10 if I pick and choose like I have with some of the other religions (too much to type on my phone).
