they will expect a certified check, even if you pay it all at once. they also want to see that theres a history of making money, and paying debts ( even though paying the mortgage on time is moot if you buy it outright)

is it your realtor or the sellers?

you could move west, find a nice cabin in the woods. buy your green from a regular store.

we wouldnt make it out there, we dont know anyone. Id like to get into a some grow operation. not that Im knowledgeable of modern growing., but dirt I got you...

yes, they want to see proof of income, to make sure Im not some drug dealer..

says seller on the sign, but goes to realtor when you call it.. coldwell banker.

they want 1,900.00 down and 149 a month. no furnace, no plumbing, no water tank. all that i have only a few years old here.. Ill gut this house of everything.

not sure if its called the same thing everywhere, but how long do you have to work before you can claim EI/unemployed when you get laid off from your job? I'm about to get laid off any time now, and everyons telling me to just go on EI that way I can focus more on school, and still afford my car payments and insurance and whatnot.

I've only worked there for about 5 months though... I for some reason feel like you need to work at a place for at least 6 months before getting laid off though? And my boss said it doesn't even matter how long i worked here because i worked at DQ for a year and McDonalds a few months (plus i worked here in the past a few years ago, and at safeway long ago)

But I thought if you quit a job you don't get paid anything from EI? And I've quit every job i ever had except for this one, so none of those other jobs even count, right? Its only for people that get laid off or get injured, so I dunno..

im no expert though...never collected a dime from that scam of a system even though i have to pay into it...they really fuck the self employed up the ass in this country

    wow nice prices

when you do a real estate search up here and filter out anything over 100 grand all you get is mostly mobile home garbage

    yes, yes.

first depends on the reason you quit.. was there danger ? I quit this job once the asshole was trying to electrocute us , as an electrician I knew it was unsafe. Trumbull Industries. paid me cause they didnt want to be investigated by osha..

Hmm... I think students might get it here, but i'm not sure... I don't see why they wouldn't though. What do you mean by scam? they force you to pay into it, why wouldn't you want to get your money back when you lose your job? Is there some negative downside i'm unaware of? To me it just sounds like 'free money' :p

Are you in Canada or the states? I forget

*edit* plus im not really a student even so it doesnt matter regardless, I work full time, i have since graduation (minus a few weeks here and there when i quit jobs), i only take a few online courses, just high school courses because im trying to upgrade my marks and GPA and whatnot to get into university maybe, im not all that serious about it i just like keeping my options open

I quit DQ cause the owner was a dick, he accused me of stealing, refused to pay me for certain hours when he thought i wasn't being 'efficient' enough, always tried to get me to sign a contract saying he doesn't have to pay me overtime (i never signed it of course), he'd make me work 14 hour days because he'd have a date or want to "go to the gym, i'll be back in an hour" then never came back all the time... and i was a supervisor so i couldnt just leave.. i had to lock up the store and set the alarms and whatnot.. etc... Would that be classified as a good reason? This was so long ago though.. like almost a year ago now?

It's because as a self-employer, you gotta pay into it but when your business turns south, you don't even qualify for the EI system you've been paying into.

Ahh I see, but if you're not self employed there's really no downside to it?

After working here i've realized i don't really wanna work in the trades my whole life... I think i want an office job or something, I wanna wake up in the morning like a boss and put on a fancy ass suit, leave my awesome mansion, get in my sexy car parked in my 12 car garage (maybe take my private jet if i have a business conference far enough away) talk on my bluetooth while stuck in traffic to multi-billionaire investors wanting to give me money, get to work and take the elevator up to the 100th floor where my office is, work for an hour then be like fuckit lets chill in the Caribbean for a few days, get my secretary to call up my private airline to let them know, to call my personal limo driver, to call my maid and tell her to pack my bags....

    One day, one day :D

He was definitely breaking the law. But that is pretty common in DQ like jobs. They won't give you any respect because your so easy to replace. If you won't work a 14 hour day some other kid will. From a HR standpoint you require no skills or training so it's no problem to get rid of you.

Pretty much. The owner was a little bit... 'off' in the head as well. He was 28, his parents bought the DQ for him to run, and he had no clue what he was doing. At first me and him got along great, I even smoked weed with him a few times :p but then the longer i worked there i noticed he was really fucked up...

One of the girls that worked there was 16, and they were a little to close after a bit... then he started telling me all these stories how he took her out to dinner one night after work, and they made out, fooled around a bit, and then she invited him into her house when her mom fell asleep... and he's telling me all this like he's bragging about it, and i'm standing there thinkig  WTF MAN!?

He always used keep alcohol in his office too and he'd always let the girls drink while at work... he'd take them outside and offer them smokes too, and they were like 14...

when all this stuff started happening i couldn't stand him anymore, he was so fucked up he used to talk about rape and how girls deserve it and all of this demented shit, he seemed like a deranged pervert.. and i guess he was getting paranoid because of all the shit he told me when we were "buddies"... so i think (im just assuming here) he tried making me look like the bad guy, accused me of stealing and stuff (because i had keys to the store, keys to the safe, the alarm codes, etc..) and he always freaked out on me for not being strict enough since i was usually in charge... im like WTF.. you sleep and drink with underage employees and i'm not strict enough....? and then he started to refuse to pay me for certain hours and shit...

so i finally i sent him a text telling him to fuck off and dont expect me to show up tomorrow for work :D
