Exactly if you got nothing it will get thrown out in court, but cops will go through mad BS just to fuck up your day sometimes, actually man most cops are like that, most everybody I know puts their cigs out when they get pulled over. It's just a good precaution, wouldn't want to sit in a cell wait for the bail bondsman and pay money for some BS charge like disorderly that a cop conjured up.

The cops here respect people much more, so it would seem way more disrespectful to do that here. A lot of it depends on the culture and police where you live.

 

I dont know about the legallity but here in Alabama you have to be 19 to purchase tobacco products.

 

I think the age to purchase tobacco products is different in every state...

 

I have absolutely no idea how what you said pertains to my post, your talking about public schools and being able to smoke in bars. I was in my car, that was parked in a mini-shopping center type deal. I wasn't in school. I know it's against the law to smoke in public areas, but I was in my vehicle with the windows rolled up, which is perfectly legal. I don't understand where you get off with that comment about my schooling. Apparantly, your the one that misunderstood my post and I was confused by your reply, I was just asking you to clarify what you were talking about, because nobody mentioned anything about smoking tobbaco in schools or where it's prohibited. Apparantly, your schooling, or lack of, is the problem here. I know the laws pertaining to tobbaco. Everyone smokes at my highschool, but I wait until after school. I don't smoke in public places, I don't attempt to purchase tobbaco (my mom gives me my cigarettes) So don't flame me or my schooling.
There's no law against possession of tobbaco by a minor in my state and I was doing nothing illegal. The point I made about the cops in my town being notorious for doing that kind of shit was to reinforce the fact that if they tried to harass me in anyway there would be a lawsuit against the police department. I know numerous people who have won lawsuits against the police department for their harrasssment.

 

I think it depends on the state, but for the most part in the US its 18... a couple 19's and I think one state you have to be 21.

And if you are truely upset about the harrassment, you can always call the police chief in your area and make a complaint. It's possible that that cop has had complaints in the past...you don't know. *shrugs* just an idea.

Your friend is lucky, I wish my school was like that, here if you get busted with pot you spend a couple of nights in Juvenile Detention and then you go to Alternative School for the rest of the school year, plus you have the shit sitting on your record, and there's some jobs out there that won't hire you if you have any past drug charges.

I wasn't saying that my post or yours was relevant to the thread. What I was saying is that you were talking about how you can't smoke in schools, or bars, and it's the law and that's the way it is. I agree with you, I was just pointing out that the story I told had nothing to do with smoking in schools, I totally agree. Your not allowed to smoke in schools, bars, public places, and I don't. I didn't intend to start an argument with you, I was intially just asking you to clarify your response to what I said because I didn't see any mention of smoking tobbaco in public places in this thread, so I was unsure what you were talking about or who you were replying to. You have no right to flame me or my schooling because you misunderstood my intial post. If you want to continue to argue this with me, I suggest we take it to PMs.
