This is another one of those things. I find them thought provoking.

Maybe because guns are used in 100% of all mass shootings?

He was a cult leader and convinced people to voluntarily drink the kool aid

Just like this meme is trying to get people to drink the NRA kool aid

Why are people so afraid of gun control????
I dont understand. Responsible, well intentioned people have absolutely no reason to fear an arduous process for purchasing a gun .

You have to read the explanation before and what I say when I post these.

I think they're thought, and discussion, provoking.

It's entirely because they like guns. All the rest is BS noise they make up to rationalize their compensatory fetish. Of course access to guns is related to use of guns. To propose otherwise is insane

    Ummm...not really.

Twould be thought and discussion provoking if every month there was a mass Kool Aid poisoning in public schools, but that's not the case.

I know these aren't your words, though, if you're posting them, you must agree with the arguments, so I don't want you to take this as a personal attack, but I find the argument of water/salt/carbon monoxide/Kool Aid/whatever can be used to kill people, so guns are cool, to be weak at best.

You know Kool Aid wasn't created with the the intent to kill, yes?

Our county is petitioning the Board of Education for more Sheriff's Deputies in our schools.

Currently, there are 14 School Resource Officers and we have 51 schools.

All 12 high schools, and two of the middle schools, have an armed Deputy there during school hours. The rest of the schools are unprotected.

Here's one about the first murder in the Bible; the will of man; and the weapon.

Cain killed Abel with a rock...

Which is about 10,999 fewer people killed by guns. Just in America. In a 12 month span.

2017 deemed America's deadliest year for mass shootings

    When is enough enough?

This society is sick and broken.

I don't disagree with some more gun owner restrictions being put into place.

I don't believe that alone will solve the problem.

There also needs to be much work done to control the problem of the mentally ill walking around unchecked and with no help.

I will never agree to a gun ban for citizens who are law abiding and who are not mentally ill.

Which one? The one about these not being your words or the one about posting random things to generate discussion?

It's not like I'm arguing against you; I'm arguing against what you're posting. I don't even know your stance on this issue. I know you're just posting things. You've said so. But still...I can't comment?

    Yes, you can comment.

My stance is stated in the post that has fallen just above.

I think there should be a ban under realistic circumstances. Domestic violence is a good example. Is there a law yet that says if you hit people that your guns get taken away? There ought to be. I feel this way about reckless driving as well actually.

I don't think it's federal, but yes. At least some states have that law.

Yeah, you posted that as I was typing my comment. I posted mine, looked up, and realized you had made my comment about your stance install obsolete :)

It should be federal. If not now, when?

I think the problem with that is that each state has its own definition of what constitutes domestic violence.

For example, if you're next door arguing with your brother--just yelling, no physical violence at all--and I call the police because of the noise, in some states, one or both of you could be charged with domestic violence. It's a whole gray area on how individual states criminalize certain things. But I agree that if you actually put your hands on someone, then owning a gun is a no-no. But if you've ever been convicted of battery, wouldn't that show up on a background check? I mean, that's got to be something that prevents you from owning a gun, right? Please?
