Especially history books. Lots of lies and edits to conform the mind into believing it and making it truth. Thoughts?
every book has a message. in every form of communication you are trying to get a message through. you cant just get your informaiton from one single source. having a well rounded education prevents propaganda from happening. so no, school books are not propaganda. maybe if all history books in school agreed and where written by the same people for the same purpose, but that is not the case. visit any library and you will find many history books that contradict each other. thats because we have the freedom to get informaiton from diffrent sources. the bible and church has more propaganda.
Of course school books are propaganda. Not so much when it comes to math and science, but history and other subjects relating to the humanities? You bet.
they are propaganda in the sense that they want to propagate a message. but so is a mcdonalds commercial on tv. in a school, its harder for you to describe history books as propaganda because you have other books in the library and access to internet (in free countires). for a specific example, most history books will paint christopher colombus in a positive light, but you can go to the library and find a book about how badly native americans where treated. like i said before, if all the books came from the same source with the same message in an effort to make children think one certain way, then yes that would be propaganda.
Not in the case of history, which is from the past which can lead an individual to believing in thier heart a certain way.
Come on now. The curriculum is absolutely mandated to the makers of the history books by our government which means they can put whatever spin they want on it to set a course of thinking a certain way.
No, patriotism doesn't really serve the role it once did when America was being built as a superpower. Instead the propaganda in school books is designed mostly to instill the "official" version of history in people's heads so they remain blind to real history and thus blind as to where the world is headed. In other words, it's all about keeping people in the dark. This is why the history books don't teach the reality of the first two world wars, which is the fact that the rise of communism was funded by Wall Street, and that Hitler's "war machine" was basically US corporations (IBM, Standard Oil, Bayer, etc.) operating out of Germany. Most people would claim this is conspiracy, though they are well-documented facts that have been mostly kept from the general public because the schools don't teach it, and the corporate media doesn't talk about it. Nevertheless, the truth is out there for people looking to dig deeper. Sadly, however, most people don't want the truth or anything that challenges what they have been brought up to believe.
Bull shit. there are no absolute standards apparent in this world except reality, what is not real does not exist. Life is the universal curriculum. You learn how to walk talk crawl, walk run spit in wad and call a dumb bell clod.
Very few teach the reality of anything. 'They certainly don't teach well being. the corporations are not your problem it's your addiction to them!
I can see that. History has been manipulated so many ways. Interesting about wall street funding Hitler. I was checking some of the information on that, there is tons. I never even heard that before.
