I wanted to warn all UK members of all the scams going on whilst in lockdown. The lastest I have just been notified of is an email claiming a payment cannot be processed by your bank. It looks legit, but as soon as you click on it, the money is taken! They have hacked your details!!!! I will add more as I am linked. BE CAREFUL

There are a lot if similar scams going on in the US. Mostly targeting the elderly. And the latest scams draw on their fear of the covid19 virus. My mom has been victimized by scams in the past. I finally got it thru her head not to believe anything someone says to her on the phone. I got her a phone that she can block the numbers from scammers. She takes joy in pushing that button.
Yes, that was sensible. There are scammers knocking on folks doors in the UK, saying they have testing kits!!!! THIS IS UNTRUE.
There are also scams going around about mobile phone providers online! Sent to emails looks like 3 EE and Virgin! DO NOT CLICK!
Something just occurred to me. Network providers and banks shut everyone out and wear a public relation face when things go wrong but they never approach the consumer. Only a scam would approach a consumer.
But the Scams look real. They are targetting people during this lockdown when folk are confused and worried.
There was a case like this within my locale - however - they picked the wrong house/person - CCTV identified them and they were appropriately dealt with by angry sons
We had to send out a notice to offices because people may sneak into the buildings and pretend to be maintenance, janitors and ask to evacuate the office for cleaning.. with robbery as motive.. I really dont think much our offices are that gullible but since offices have limited staff its possible scam could get in.
Don't buy hand sanitizer on the street! It could be fake, and alcohol mixed with chlorine bleach. This is a poisonous combination, results in chloroform (not funny). Several sickened locally...
Some of the scammers here will call and the first thing they say is "can you hear me?" You answer yes and they have your voice recorded as saying yes to whatever BS they are going to do. Just hang up if this happens. Or do like I did---I got an air horn and can give them a blast that they won't forget!!
