the concept of the faraday cage is fairly simple tho, it's points out the concept of a hollow conductor, by showing that high voltage travel along the surface of an object, making it posible be inside a box subjected to great voltage without beeing roasted.
Wich is why you will notice that high-voltage lines are build up in layers to maximize their conductivity

It's also the explaination of why a car is the safes place in a thunderstorm since the lightning travels on the outside of the car....
