My stomach always hurts if i drink to much absinthe. I usually stop after the third glass. If its the low alcohol kind i will have something else to drink instead after the third glass. I really need to order more. I have like 10 - 15 bottles with about an ounce in each. I just cant get myself to finish a bottle in case i want it more some other time.

 

I have never had absinthe, though I would like to try it one day.

Lesson 1 that I learned: Only drink absinthe when I have the next day off from work. I woke up around 6:30 with the computer still on my lap, set it aside, and slept until the alarm went off at 7. Then I called in sick and went back to sleep until 11:45.

I woke up thinking that with absinthe I could get drunk without getting stupid. However after reading my last facebook post, which I had forgotten posting, maybe I did get a tiny bit stupid.

Here is what that post said (since I'm sure you're wondering): "I love a woman on the opposite side of the world. I love the Internet." That was around 2:45 AM.

The woman in question was my filipina friend Marilou, who had just wished me a good day.

Mostly though, I think the overall effect of absinthe as opposed to other liquors is the one people talk about - it's more of a lucid effect and less of a drunk.

I didn't have any stomach problems, but that might be because I was grazing the whole time. I started with a few hard salami slices, then some felafel balls, finger veggies, and soda crackers.

Other than talking to people on the Internet, speaking in tongues, channeling Deanna, and making a bit of a spectacle of myself, I spent a lot of time listening to a Chopin nocturne.

It's a date.

Part of the fun is the little ritual that accompanies it. You put a couple of ounces of absinthe in the bottom of a glass, then set the slotted absinthe spoon on top of the glass with a sugar cube on it, then pour water over the sugar cube to dissolve it and dilute the absinthe and bring out the "louche," then use the absinthe spoon to stir the mixture.


I'm going out to dinner tonight - a family thing. My stepson's girlfriend is visiting from Oklahoma, and this will be my chance to meet her for the first time. This is the girl he met while working on the cruise ship in Hawaii.

 

When it comes to shoveling snow, you must do a few things first.

Smoke some weed.

Then go out there with the mindset of im getting the best most productive workout during this cold mafuckin winter.
