The call has gone out! I have asked the people of Freecycle for stuff to help my soapmaking process.

The world will never be the same!

Maly - a word to the wise - liposuction clinics. The fat of the land. Refer to Fight Club for more specifics. Did you know that one of the by-products of soap-making is glycerin? And if you add nitric acid, you get nitroglycerin? Very important to know! Soap-making provides many opportunities for blowing things up, if one simply knows what one is doing!

No luck on freecycle for the pots :(

I can't find any used stainless steel pots anywhere! And I can't justify buying a new one to ruin making soap

Hard to believe nobody has any old stainless steel pots they want to replace or get rid of. Have you considered Salvation Army? Yard sales?

So now I'm getting curious. Just what exactly is your plan - are you going to render fat with lye and the whole nine yards, or are you buying some intermediary materials from someplace where they've already rendered the fat for you?

I need wine, and I need it now. I need somebody to fetch it for me so's I don't need to move my ass off the bed. Any volunteers?

I'm going to watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest tonight. I think. If I don't get sidetracked like I did last night.

Salvation army had nothing...i went yesterday...thinking about hitting up the big one in Worcester, tho..they might have more.

My plan is to make my soap, start to finish...lye, olive oil, coconut oil, and more later after my first few basic batches.

I will take you up on that! I'm looking for Guinea pigs! :D

I'm looking for a double boiler, too...but its not as pressing as a pot. I double boil without one but have always wanted one.

So who else wants to be my test dummies?! :D

Yay! Its going to be about 2 months before its ready. It takes about 4 weeks to cure and I'm waiting for my shipment of supplies which is 2 weeks out...and the extra 2 weeks is for the in-home explosions :D
