I suggest trying to get it fixed...a friend of mine had something similar happen and she was able to fix hers until she was able to get a new one.

takes apart, buys QD part cleaners, and duster. sprays all exposed parts and allow to drip with QD.. using duster to blast QD under chips, allow to drip dry, hair drier on low for a while.. just sit the board on something and allow the fan to dry it. .. pray.. assemble.

I was wondering if something like this might work, but I don't know a lot about it. It would get the electrolytes out of the parts so they wouldn't be crossing circuits. The only problem would be if some components were blown up from the initial circuit-crossing. But hell, for $1200+ it seems worth trying.

I spilled beer on my laptop keyboard once. A moth got in my beer, and when I sipped it and felt the moth in my mouth I involuntarily spat all the beer out of my mouth onto the keyboard. After I blotted everything dry I discovered one key didn't work. But I bought a replacement keyboard pretty cheaply, and now it works great.

sometimes a little protect circuit will save the whole board. your fluid caused it to cross circuits, but may not have caused a true short. clean board with a soft toothbrush for caked on soda and stuff.

you take this to a professional, 95% the time, ^ this is all they do and hope it comes back on, once dry. the other 5% swap parts and charge you $$.

RF: I drank 2 beers with my boss last night (he's turning me into an alcoholic) and then I got high...my head is pounding this morning.
