Samhain, October 31st, is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season with Winter entering, eclipsing light. Also, what is interesting, is on that day the veils between the worlds are the thinnest. That reminds me what Fred Alan Wolf, in his book The Eagle's Quest regarding uranium deposits near where the Lakota, the Hopi and other tribes live, and where Shamans live as well. He states that the uranium deposit create a crack in the veils separating worlds.
