Hello, my loves! My name's Laci (as suggested by my creative username), and I'm from Iowa, USA. I've been searching so long for like-minded individuals to discuss with and befriend, and this forum is perfect! I'm so excited to get to know everyone! So, a little about myself. I'm 16 years old, and as I said, from Iowa, USA. I've been vegan for about 7 years now on account of my love for animals, my belief that animals are not mine to eat or use, and the many health benefits of this lifestyle. I'm the proud mom to 3 dogs, a ferret, a turtle, a rat, and a pony, but always taking in animals to foster (or end up keeping in the case of a few animals). I'm a fan of all genres of music, but I especially love anything with meaningful lyrics and an acoustic/blue-grass sound- so if you know of anything like that, you should definitely let me know so I can check it out! Otherwise, in short, I'm an old soul, addicted to over-sized sweaters, tea-consuming, activist hippie child. I'm so looking forward to getting to know everyone and making some great new friends! Sending hugs and positive vibes to everyone!
I didn't think there was anyone else from Iowa on this forum! I'm from North Liberty, between Iowa City, Coralville, and Cedar Rapids. Right in the cultural district of Iowa
i am from Sac County . last night i went out to the Greatfully Dead Jerry pub in near-by Pomeroy . the shows are Sunday starting at 5 . a Nashville songwriter was last night's thing .
In the heart of the Cyclone Nation!! The bar in Pomeroy is Byrons. They have some damn impressive acts play there. I have some pics of the place around somewhere.
Greetings Laci! The closest I've been to Iowa thus far would be Chicago's Midway Airport (2009 and 2010). I hope you're enjoying the forums! As for your state, a friend of mine got an awesome shot of the capitol building in Des Moines on his trip to the Midwest:
That capitol building is less than 5 miles from my house. You could see it from my high school. 14 blocks from the house I grew up in.
This is at Bushnell Park in Hartford, which I'm roughly 10 miles from. Sadly, I could never get a picture of the place that would be THIS good! :dizzy2:
