well, when reading this i would myself ask the question: why are there so many criminals in the first place? some of you ppl seem to be only interested in locking them up and nobody is asking why the heck there are so many of them (as example, you in the US have more than 2.2 million prisoners - thats more than a 4th of the inhabitants of my country). treating the causes should be a goal in the long run... because the symptons really are costy.
2 million would be near 1/4 of Austria's population. Combine that with the amount of people in jail/prison/parole/probation it would actually eclipse Austria's population.
maybe the "american way" isnt that good after all? probably, i dont know. i only know the numbers of ppl actually in jail. however, as far as i see things from here, the US is more interested in building bigger and better prisons than to change the system that produces the criminals.
the "american way" was quite good (when minimum wage was enough to support your family on) but then it was twisted and perverted into, well, this. thank you neocons, for showing us you could live off of debt with only mild long term consequences.
well actually i tried in a subtle way to point out that the "american way" actually never was all that fine for most ppl.
as long as there is a demand for guns, they will be made available legally or illegally. no matter how bad the penalties are there is always someone less fortunate then yourself willing to risk jail for easy money.
I think this video pretty much sums up the white mans love for guns in america https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqh6Ap9ldTs Hotwater
no, he's a clever guy, he's made a lot of money off of propaganda films. He's better at on the spot rhetoric than most politicians (ever hear him say "UH, uh..."?) and he knows how to work people. and he's picked some okay causes not all okay causes, but some. but in the end, he's a flim-flam man. Real research shows how specious some of his claims and correlations are, Real critical viewing demonstrates that his material is mostly emotional crap, with less content than filler. but he is good at it, and he was clever enough to find what he was good at. he's not a moron, or a retard. but he is less than honourable in his methods (which are effective in a mass market way, and I don't think he'd be effective if he had to work honourably) And he is less than 100% honest in his methodology. but he's quite clever about it.
Private Investigators working for New York City have uncovered the easy access offered to folks who can not pass a background check for firearms offered at flea market type gun shows. Why tout elaborate firearms restrictions if this loophole is allowed? Seems some folks are anoyed a Mayor Mike Bloomberg for initiating this sting. For paying tax dollars to private investigators. Whre is our press and our media, that private individuals have to uncover law breaking at gun shows;.
Ya be sure to come back and let us know when anyone is charged okeydokie? http://www.atf.gov/press/2009press/100909atf_response-to-gun-show-undercover.htm
