As per eastern philosophies such as Advaita, taoism and sufism, we are all connected to each other and existence at a subtle level though this may not be apparent at the sensory level which perceives separative existence for each. And for that reason, ideologies and philosophies based on mere sensory experience obviously tends to encourage conflict and competition, not trying to look beyond the merely apparent. This however turns out to be counterproductive and destructive in the longer run in the bigger picture, similar to two hands of the same organism fighting the other. The unitary perception, as emphasized in the article, on the part of the individual and society is necessary for constructive actions that builds up humanity holistically and progressively rather than the limited dualistic perception that is fragmentary, regressive and wreaks destruction eventually. Nature favours the conscious and holistic and is destructive to the unconscious and fragmentary in the longer run.
