A friend of mine rang over the weekend, she's in her early 80's and we go back 20 years, she lost her partner about 25 years ago and finally about 2 years ago found new happiness with a gent her own age, she's a great lady, she doesn't look her age and certainly doesn't act it, she's a real laugh. Anyway he'd been ill for a few weeks and finally it got so bad that he had to go to hospital, he'd refused to go to the doctors, he didn't want any fuss! They did a scan on him and found out he'd got renal cancer and it had spread to his lymph nodes, he's got days to live, naturally she's taking it really bad, she lost her son to cancer recently and can't face going through it all again, waiting for him to die at the hospital, all his family are there, but she just can't face it. I know they all understand but she still feels bad, the hospital is a fair distance from her home and i've told her to call me if she wants to go, I don't want her driving as she's upset, life can be so cruel at times.
Oh Phil that is so sad. You and your friend are in my prayers. It is the anniversary of losing my Dad to the big C.
