people have been begging to let this thread die for about 20 pages now.. i think thats the spirit talking, but i have a feeling its written somewhere in the bible "go forth and annoy all non beleivers make rediculouse claims to spread fear, for fear of the impossible shalt make them beleive"
so i doubt they will let it drop
so i guess the gospal of nay shall live on too

If we carry on passing laws that take away our civil liberties in the 'fight against terrorism' (that was ultimately bought on by our governments anyway) then isn't that ultimately self-destructive??

Shame that Campbell left, I honestly would have enjoyed a dialogue with him. Maybe we both would have learned something ?

I have found that although people seem closed to learning anew that there is always some hole, some part that is open. That, I believe, is why we have realizations; why we learn at all. It is also, I believe, why we have wars and people have 'conniptions'; because of denial or lack of "ability to accept an experience" causing "rough learning"; this applies to all of us and applies to "good and 'normal'" expectations. Realization can be difficult.

its true that the world today is in a near constant state of war & many times the wars are fairly out of sight, except when its conveinient to publicizea war to distract the easily distracted masses from some governmemnt screw up
seeems like everytime a president gets in trouble you can bet a war will start within days.
nothing unites people behind the president like a good ol' war huh?
theres probably a secret list of countries that are on "in case of emergency atack at random" status

Would you relay a condemnation to people who live on an isolated island that functionally practice what you do but by a different name ?

 

jesus christ is a character in the same book right? by that logic every single book ever written repeats that
never read any harry potter books, but i;'d imagine theres plenty of what is known in literature as foreshadowing, which you call predicting so you could look at a harry potter book, in the beginning it might hin at some magic trick hes trying to learmn, then towards the middel he accomplishes this trick..fullfilling the prophesy..is harry potter therefore a god too? post that in the young hippy or book threads & i bet youd find plenty who would get on theyre knees & say yes he is

 

I met this amazing lady who reads and draws alot and she began answering questions that I had by using Harry Potter analogues ! Yes, SoaringEagle, I believe that these themes are woven throughout literature in parallel.

how can you possibly beleive any religion that would condemn a baby who dies before hes even capable of understanding the word god let alone the concept?
what about those who are truly pure beautiful kind loving spirits but have never heard of this bible?
there are many..not only one..paths to the devine..& gods true nature can be contemplated yet never known by mortal minds.

First of all wars did not start in 1939. second communism did not spread the russian force them after invading half of the european continent. communism spread in vietnam becouse we choose to back up France instead of Vietnam. vietnam was a French colonie and those son of bitches should be the last one in the world to own a colonie. Had we choosen to help vietnam it would had never resorted to communist china and russia for help we left them with little choice.
