Russia bans GMOs

Can't stand that arrogant, pretentious d-bag Putin, but kudos to Russia for banning GMOs. Shame the USA will never do that.

I don't. I simply fail to see why this issue needs to be solved by legislation.

 

Vermont recently passed a bill requiring all food with GMOs in them to be labelled as such. It's a start. I just hope it spreads like wildfire. Once people start complaining because they suddenly see it right in their faces, then maybe we'll demand better options. As of right now, it's too easy for people to ignore it, pretend the food is perfectly healthy, or don't even know about it.

 

Lol that seems rather counter productive considering many non gmo food products were produced using gmo based fertilizer. Also, lots of non gmo products are stored with gmo products. If you live in the US, unless you grow your own food and you're aware of what your fertilizer ingredients consists of, you're probably never going to be gmo free.

Do you now? I find it a whole lot more amusing that the OP, an American, wishes to have our government strip away more of our "liberties".

 

Seems she has more of an issue with the fact consumers are kept in the dark. We should be able to read it on the package, certainly if it becomes apparent people want that info in order to make a well founded choice in what they ingest or not. If nobody cared in the past, ok understandable. Now we crave that info and companies like Monsanto fight that procedure. Not understandable. Well, ok I can understand why they don't want that GMO label but it should be clear that it is our right as consumers to be able to read it and know this shit.

Doubtful. His disgusting, horrible views and policies in regards to homosexuals, Syria, etc. and huge obvious corruption does not appeal do me. Nor does his cult of personality style of leading. Very arrogant human being.

 

Okay, how is putting a label on certain foods considered taking away more of our liberties? It's not actually banning anything. By labeling the foods that contain GMOs, it gives us the right to be informed and the freedom to decide whether we want to buy and consume it. GMOs are harmful.
