The goverment will not let U.S. citizens to grow weed because they know that it's potency to cure is so great that in the long run they will lose money for themselves, they make more money off of Live above the influence advertizing, and making money off of possesion of drugs which allows them to permanately take private property. If farmers were allowed to grow there own hemp they will not need toxic fertilizer.....neither will they try to piss on spinache to make it grow faster (ok they one was a joke but hey it might be true....who know!) am i just paranoid or is this true? anyways you all might have seen this but if you havent nows a good time to watch it RUN FROM THE CURE PART 1/7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjhT9282-Tw
The reason pot is illegal is because it gets people high. When people are high, no matter what you may believe, they CAN make dumb choices. That's why pot is illegal. Everything's not a conspiracy. I believe there are conspiracies out there, but this isn't one of them. Pot is illegal because it gets you high. Period.
Alcohol also produces intoxication and makes people do stupid things like drunk driving, fights and so on... and it isn't illegal. Probably a bit more dangerous then pot, imo. People are chilled out on pot rather than loud, stupid, unreasonable, and violent while drunk.
Pot is most likely illegal because the government wouldn't be able to tax it properly (people would just grow their own). Why is alcohol legal then? It's much harder on the body than pot. Why do they sell you pills when pot can do the same thing? Almost everything in the us revolves around money one way or another. also.. Those who voted on the legal fate of this plant never had the facts, but were dependent on information supplied by those who had a specific agenda to deceive lawmakers. Read some of these quotes "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others." "...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races." "Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death." "Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men." "Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing" "You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother." "Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind." "In the year 1090, there was founded in Persia the religious and military order of the Assassins, whose history is one of cruelty, barbarity, and murder, and for good reason: the members were confirmed users of hashish, or marihuana, and it is from the Arabs' 'hashashin' that we have the English word 'assassin.'" uggggggggh seriously? :hysterica
To the op, you are RIGHT ON. All the government cares about is making money, not our welfare. They've known for over 30 years that marijuana halts the spread of cancer, and yet a cancer patient would go to jail for possession without a second thought. If pot were legal, prescription drug sales and doctor bills would drop drastically. No longer would the government make a killing off poor health, and that's something they can't allow.
 Ha, this actually comes pretty close to the truth. Hawkwind even honoured them with a song. Oh guide us, thy genie of the smoke! Hashish-hashin Hashish-hashin Hashishin Black-September Black-September Black-September Death unto all infidels, in oil Guide us o thou genie of the smoke Lead us to a thousand and one nights In the perfumed gardens of delight Petro-dollar Petro-dollar Petrol-D'allah Petrol-D'allah
For the OP whose enthusiastic plug of Running From the Cure, I am reminded of a quote by Nietzsche who once wrote, "what convinces is not necessarily true--it is merely convincing: a note for asses." I'm all for the legalization of marijuana, but I've watched Running From the Cure and if anything this piece of shit film set the legalization movement back. Forgetting the complete lack of concrete evidence, it makes Michael Moore look objective by comparison for Christ's sake. As for honeypie, I'm not sure about this, but did you really just take quotes from Reefer Madness as if they were relevant to the current battle to legalize weed? I'll give you a pass because your point about the financial motivation behind domestic policy was about the only intelligent thing said in this thread. It's garbage like Running From the Cure that makes it easy for our bullshit corporate run government to perpetuate the current system of tolerant oppression which constantly mutes any voice of dissent. I find it offensive that anyone who claims to support could make headlines with such a weak argument. And that's not to mention the fact that just about everyone on here wants to see weed legalized so that they can smoke it. Hate to break it to you, but smoking in any form is bad for your health, even with a substance as innocuous as marijuana. Sorry about the rant, but I'm pissed off because I'm broke and have a hard time sleeping before 5 am when I don't have weed. I guess you could say that I'm mentally addicted, but of course that could never happen because of the same cure-all from the film that has no downside.
