I didn't really watch sesame seed street. But I have a rubber ducky for my bath. He floats a bit wonky.
I was already a teenager when Sesame Street came on the air so I wasn't into it but now and then I'd check it out, watch about ten minutes or so. I actually enjoyed it when I was stoned. This segment is one thing I remembered, it cracks me up. Only Ernie could pull it off.
i seem to recall there was a heehaw trucker song. the 'rubber ducky' being refered to was the antenna of a hand held portable citizen's band "walkie talkie" two way radio. (why they were called that i have absolutely no effing idea. i just remember that they were.) not actually anything to do with bathtub toys or children's television. some sort of alliterative connection to the former possibly, but not, that i know of, the latter.
same here. i don't remeber all the words, but i remember it being part of that trucker phase in heehaw music. and walketalkee (hand held portable communication radios, long before today's digital technologies) had a rubber coating to protect them from the weather. and hence the term.
there were also mass quantities of these things, released into ocean currents to study them, or for some charity or both, this was several years beck, and i think whoever it was had planed to make it a yearly event.
