I think they are weakening the lineup for fans
The only bands I really want to see thier is SCI and Keller Williams
And what I mean by weaking up the line up for the fans is maybe that this year it wont attract the bad apples cause big names like The Dead and Trey Anastasio wont be thier either though the portapoty of them all will be (DMB)
Its sad that the great ones like the dead and trey wont be thier but superfly has a contract for two more years after this one and I bet the last year will just be off the hook
well all I know is I wont be thier this year
maybe next maybe the last one before MTV owns it but in two years they may ban it as they allready want to but they cant cause of thier contract they have as I previously mentioned
O well two more left lets see if it gets better

    your phriend fee

both of you knock it off. Differing opinions are fine, being mean to each other isn't.

This is not that great of a lineup, but there still is a good number of bands I would love to see. although it is a major dissapointment not to see any dead, trey, mike, page, or fishmen. I cant really argue WITH 2 NIGHTS OF PANIC, bela, o.a.r., toots and maytals, ymsb, keller, ect. I have heard that moe. will probley do a show too, but am not sure of it. If i don't go to roo this year i will definitly hit some smaller fest like hookahville, all good, grassroots, and dunegrass. wakarusa sounds like a good time too, they have a sweet line up

instead of having widespread on two nights why not do some rearranging, let someone else headline a night then give widespread just one big long night to go nuts?

thats a pretty magnificant phish picture nugget

yeah dmb is a waste of good space, so are some of the other bands that don't mix in with the roo seen, but there is nothing i can do about it. roo has definitly turned into a late version of woodstock, theres always more hope for next years though, but im sure that they'll just mix it with more mainstream shit.

that phish pic is a great memorial pic of lemonwheel...god im gonna miss their shows

you all KNOW they will add at least 20-30 more acts to that list. I , too, want some Cheese....please. I really liked seeing John Prine and Drive By Truckers on the list though, now let's see some Doc Watson to go with Earl Scruggs. yeah, WSP 2 nights, not sure yet how I feel about that.

Oh!! I just noticed the Gourds!! would really like to see them too (they do the version of Gin and Juice that is often attributed to others, I think, does anyone really know?) anyway, I have heard they're good, but haven't really heard them a lot.

don't get me wrong, 2 nights of panic is probably a good thing. then maybe not such a crush of humanity at the headliner(s) if they spread out a little (no pun intended). I just like the peripheral bands so much. At mosts fests my favorites have been relative unknowns.

lineup isnt as bad as i expected, just if they wanted to throw a non-hippy festival, why didnt they leave the hippy one alone, and have a pop/agro one the next weekend.
    heres what i liked
    Widespread Panic(2 shows)
    Alison Krauss and Union Station
    Bela Fleck Acoustic Trio
    John Prine
    Yonder Mountain String Band
    Keller
    STS9
    Earl Scruggs & Friends
    Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
    Drive-by Truckers
    Particle
of course the roo is gonna schedule em all at the same time! still might not be worth the ticket price. first roo i volunteered to get in, second i traded hempsandals and the last 2g of my homegrown, last year i ordered tickets and felt cheated. this year i might just show up with out a ticket and camp out, maybe get miracled or make a wristband, who knows. if they get moe., gillian welch, del mcoury, sam bush, and Phil there i might pay for a ticket.

QUESTION: did MTV buy the rights to Roo, or is that a rumor?

not that anyone really cares, but no $200 'roo for me this year! I've been to roo all 3 years but this year I'm spending my money on smaller festivals!

and nothing against DMB, cause i actually like some of his music, but his fans suck ass. i've only been to one dmb concert in the past 5 years and i couldn't hear a fucking note due to all the drunken greek idiots talking nonstop!

Oh yeah, and a word of advice: GO SEE KELLER WILLIAMS!

Lastly, the roo last year was questionable. i saw some violence, arrests, and saw an enormous amount of people who were there solely to sell drugs like crack*. so, it isn't "all about the music" for everyone who is there, unfortunately.

*Disclaimer: touchy subject because i'm pretty much for legalization of all drugs but it's still true that some drugs are more likely to cause people to do things they might not normally do, such as steal or murder for money to buy drugs. so, if you can support your crack habit without ever stealing from me, i guess have fun!
