rolling machines

who use's them? are they easy to handle? I thought I was getting better at rolling it's like I took 10 steps back. was thinking of getting one I've been watching youtube videos about how to use them. How much do they cost?

 

i have a hand operated roller that i buy at liquer stores that makes great round joints.

Search youtube for the dollar bill method.a friend showed me,works great for rolling perfect joints.

 

Jeez, I haven't had a joint in years. Seems so wasteful compared to a pipe. I am a damn good roller, tho.

so me and my dad bought each a top rolling machine and we can't for the life of us figure it out. when we stick the paper in to roll it the pot pops out? the one we got has metal on the side the paper won't roll down so we can lick. does anyone know of any videos been trying to find the same one we bought top metal rolling machine

 

I just talked to my dad he got it too work but doesn't know how he did it and he used his last paper

I own two - a small Rizla-branded machine and one for rolling larger joints. I prefer to roll without one, but if you can't (or don't want to) they're useful to have around.

 

I have figured it out and the last couple jays turned out great I rolled one but didn't put enough pot in it so it was way too tight and small so I took it apart an put that one in the bowl

The dollar bill method works exactly the same as a rolling machine, except you don't have to have the machine.

Literally, exactly the same mechanics. But it's always available and it's not suspicious at all.

Both of them drop some bud, and are less than ideal for most joints in most situations.

When I was 8 years old the subject came up in school... Of course none of us had pot or had ever come into contact with anyone that had. Someone mentioned rolling a joint so I took a piece of writing paper and the shavings from a pencil sharpener and "twisted up a number".... Looked perfect. No we didn't smoke it, but I had proved my point... I knew how to twist one up. I never had any problems doing so. (except when my hands are cold)



Now, years later I was going somewhere with this old hippy... He was driving a '56 Ford pickup truck and he twisted a number with one hand between gear shifts... THAT was impressive. I've never been able to pull that one off.


Anyways... I was kind of pulling your leg. I roll my own cigarettes by hand, have been doing so for 20 years or more so it's something like second nature to me.

 

I've never been able to make any progress towards learning to roll one-handed.... sure have tried, though.

But if you can't roll with two hands, you need to learn, no question. Even if you don't smoke, it's one of those like skills.... just like you've got to be able to work a gun even if you don't like or own guns, drive a standard even if you have a wimpy auto, etc. It's a matter of being prepared, and being able to step up and take care of business when necessary.

In a more shallow sense, skills like that make you desirable and valuable as company, and more respected, and thus more easily able to get what you personally need. You want to be the one who can drive anything, roll anything, or deal with whatever else comes up.

In this day and age, beer pong is probably also one of those skills - but I so resent and despise it and the people who play it that I refuse to hone that particular skill.

The dollar bill method?

Take your paper, fill it with your weed, evenly and all that jazz. Place it in the middle of a dollar bill, so that it lies vertically accross washington's face, and then fold the sides of the bill together over it, along the crease on the paper. Put your fingers in the places on the paper (through the bill) where you would to roll, and then move them up just a little, so the joint-to-be is compressed the same amount you want it to be when it's rolled, but so that it would be floating just where you couldn't hold it if you didn't have the bill there, and move your thumbs up and down, so it rolls the joint back and fourth. When you're happy with the weed distribution, roll it all the way away from the gum strip, and then (it may take a little extra pressure to get it to start, and wrap around right) roll it all the way until just the gum strip is not rolled - hold your fingers a little lower now, peel the bill back and lick it, then finish the rolling motion (or, the cheating method of rolling it dry and then licking the outside and waiting for it to sink through works, too, of course).

There's some youtube videos on it, it should only take a few minutes to get perfectly capable at it - just don't lick it until you like the joint. It takes absolutely NO rolling talent, though it may incidentally make you better at rolling.

Rolling machines work the same way, they just have a piece of rubberized (to make it grip the paper a little - a tiny bit of moisture on the bill can help with this) ribbon, between two little movible spindles, on a little plastic frame - those spindles fill the same role as your fingers, in the dollar bill method. The dollar bill is stiff enough that there's no need of an actual spindle accross it.

*edit* youtube seems to have a lot of retards who roll the weed in the bill, then try to transfer it - and people who roll it, and then feed the paper through the bill, which seems fine other than that the weed will be sized to the bill and not your paper - it's all a similar concept, but I mean this method:

You can also stick two papers together to make it double wide, or buy a wide brand ("EZ-widers" or the like), which makes rolling without a bill almost work like rolling with an invisible bill - it gives you a lot more to work with, and enough that if it doesn't roll smoothly it's no biggie, you can tighten it after the paper initially makes a full tube. Normal slim zig-zag whites or something take some practice.

If you use wide papers, you can also cheat by letting it fold or bunch if you need, to get it to come full circle - again, you can tighten it as you roll.
