watched Rocky Horror movie years ago at a Long Beach, Ca. movie theater........the motor cycle gang drove their bikes in hte side door and danced in front of the screen on stage,,,,,,,,,people threw food.......a piece of bread landed in my lap as i was eating a minature piece of candy that looked like a piece of bread.......we went in costume.......I was dressed as a gypsy fortune teller..............what a blast.

 

Frank 'n Furter is my fave character and I agree with the majority here - it's a hell of a movie!

Actually apart from one person on page one of this thread, I don't believe I have ever heard someone say it's a crap film.... ever!!!

 

I admit it... I still love this movie after how many years? I can't say I have a favorite character, but it's still such a kick to see.

Two things I wanted to say as a RHPS fan and a freak with a trick memory for completely unusable facts...

1) If you think Tim Curry as It is strange, how about him playing Darkness in the movie Legend? Not THAT'S a makeup job.

2) The guy who played Rocky is now a nice middle-aged gay gentleman running a tasteful antique shop... somewhere in the environs of London, I believe, or so says O'Brien's commentary on the DVD.

 

His name is Peter Hinwood, and I doubt he's gay (although I don't know for sure). He doesn't talk much about the film, and I vaugely remember a quote. " Being (or maybe "Playing") the sexual plaything of (Frankenfurter) is something I'd rather not remember". Richard O'Brien said he didn't remember him having a problem with it at the time. If he is gay, he's not public about it. Do you have a source?

Either way, damn what a fun movie! And I love Little Nell's peak-a-boo tit.

My friends and I are part of the local professional cast: "The Denton Affair" in Cincinnati Ohio. Whenever I go to see the show as an audience member I dress up as Frank:

(yeah, that's me. People say I'm Tim Curry's unknown child. ^_^)

But this Saturday I'm going to be performing as Brad "Asshole" Majors (my second favorite character!) for the first time!

If anyone is in the area, we perform every other Saturday at The Esquire theatre in Clifton OH!

More power to you all...but I absolutely hated this film. Not that you all care.

 

yeah, not really. But each to his own.

 

I am glad I never had to see the movie as a virgin in the movie theater lol.

 

Then IMHO you need to re-examine the concept of "don't dream it, be it" and apply that knowledge so that you can actually EXPERIENCE RHPS instead of merely observing it.

My home burnt to the ground on Jan 7 at 4 am in the morn. I lost a lot of dvds like the episodes of the Lone Ranger, a rat patrol one and some Get Smart episodes aas well as Mash and Gilligan DVDs and videos, Bullwinkle and Rocky cartoons, Our Gang videos
and some great episodes to many to mention like a lot of ole Clint Eastwood shoot em ups. If any one can mail me videos, dvds or copy onto a blank dvd disc some much loved oldy stuff I would be greatly beholden to y'all, also lost a lot of great comedy videos, my favorite genre like robin williams and eddie murphy stuff.

It's excellent. Went through a phase when I was watching it EVERY day. Almost know the whole thing by memory. It was great.

Um. Anyway.

A friend and I both love this movie, but we live in a small town and thought well, they'll never show it at the theater on Main Street... but... THEY ARE!

Actually we were out doing the whole costume thing yesterday, got everything together for only 20 bucks each. Sweet. I can't wait for next weekend...
