Awesome thread ! Lot's of very influential songs posted by you guys :sunny: I've never met anyone that had even heard of Rocket 88 Awhile back I came across that song and the idea that it was considered the "first" rock and roll song. Finding Ike Turner played with that band intrigued me and I read more. It's fascinating... Ike gave Jimi one of his first breaks. So recently I saw a comment at Wiki that there are 3 songs considered contenders to be the first. I like that as the comment below says, with something evolutionary like music no one can point to just one genre-changing song. Here's those other two mentions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3FNLnFg6Ck"]Goree Carter Rock Awhile - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqI130TS1vM"]First Rock'n roll song?!
