i've heard some quote by i think john that said ringo was the heart of the band, the personality really. we couldnt have the beatles the way they are if ringo wasnt there to add his style to with a little help from my friends.
A few days ago I (half-)jokingly posted about Lars Ulrich from Metallica that I, with half a year of experience and never having even touched a real drumkit, could play anything he can, twice as fast. With Ringo, I'm not even joking. I've never heard Pete Best, don't even know who he is, so I'll refrain from voting for him. Especially if Ringo replaced him because he was better.
OMG, I know. I don't understand this cult of BASHING Ringo's drumming. Just because he doesn't overwhelm your ears with bombastic macho bullshit, DOESN'T mean he's a sucky drummer. people. *shakes head disapprovingly*
ringo is horrible, which im sure made pete best even worse, but beatles music didnt require amazing drumming, and he was personable so he worked out fine, I dont mind ringo for those reasons
