Hey, that's a coincidence! I loved him on the Woodstock dvd (playing Freedom and Handsome Johnny) but didn't seem to be able to find anything more about him. Those two songs songs really hit me, especially with views of the festival and all. Really powerful. Thanks for posting this.
how old is he now? and hes still playing? thats awsome. id love to see him..man..and yea his woodstock performance was amazing. the furiously flicking of his foot and the chordes played by his thumb...yea... danceing to the concord war
he must be in his 60/s now . i do appologise in advance richie if your younger . but even if richie is in his 60/s "he is looking really well for his age . i know that he is still playing to this day and is touring the uk this year . i missed out last year (as you can imagine )tickets sold very quickly . /peace /
He played at this little local bar that I go to for shows a lot, but I didn't get to go. I hope I see him later this spring, though
a few years ago when we were about to attack iraq, demonstrations took place in every major city worldwide. i went to the NYC one. granted, there we a few hundred thousand people between us, but i could see him up there next to susan surandin playing his guita
I have the Woodstock DVD, and his two songs on it are amazing! Unfortunately, I don't have any of his albums, but i might get one of them soon.
i like his cover of all along the watchtower. his song, pulling up the stone is good to. how nervous do you think he was being first performer at woodstock? he did awesome!
Richie Havens kicks too much ass for me to explain how much I love his music and what it means to me. I love him!!!!!!!
