When my ferry boat stopped there, everything was closed! (siesta time?). So I never got to see anything... just lots of stone, not even a Colossus! The stone streets were empty, like a ghost town. I relearned this lesson in Spain. Never bother to go out during siesta time.
We were actually staying in Ialyssos, a small town just south of Rhodes and went into town in the morning and returned about 2pm. Perfect! The Acropolis, amphitheatre and hippodrome were amazing! The old walled city is far too touristy now though.
