I get what you're trying to say. the draft was a big boost for protest movement. but if the people really were that ignorant? I don't know, we both weren't there, so I don't know if we could make proper conclusions about that time and the things that were going on.

I think that the reason why there ain't no big protest movement out there nowadays is that a real big group only cares for their own wealth and welfare, they only think about themselves most of the time. this is the group that should give a voice to the people who need it, but they won't. the only reason why the french protests worked out wel was because it affected a large group of people who will protest more easily than other groups in our society. they didn't protest for a better world but for themselves, which i don't condemn or aprove. i don't think different opinions about things is the great devider, but the lack of sympathy and care for each other is.

its a combination of both, unity, and anger towards whats going on. i really think that their is no perfect goverment, thats why constant revolution is so important (trotsky). we have to take down the tyrianical goverment before it becomes to powerful, and im not sure if its to late in america. things are just getting worse and worse everywhere. we need a BIG change FAST. not neccecarly a revolution even, just something that will change this world for the better.

How horrible do things have to get. I reflect daily on the horror that your shoes are made by slave labour, half the food in your cupboard relies on slave labour, I think we should help the third world in their revolution against our way of life - rather than have some bourgeois kind of protest - get a gun and go to South America (unless you are South American and came here to get away from it all - in which case grab some beers I think we've got a few in the fridge - and take up life on the beach - Relax a while and enjoy the life without a war)

Well Trotsky would have said something like that but then thats because he had a limited imagination
