I had not gone too Peru for 'revolution' .. i was merely working for my local newspaper [The Leicester Mercury]. I was assignened to cover the local fete.. but took the wrong bus. I then stumbled onto a boat, traveled quite a distance..and found myself in Peru [i was quite bemused by the situation i can tell you]. Once i had phoned my mum, and told her to put my tea in the fridge [for when i got home].. I set off to find some kind friendly face to have a cup of tea with. This is when i met Pedro [lovely guy-dead now though-but thats in post No. 10 -this being post No. 1]. We got chatting and he noticed my socks [this is when the trouble started] This is enough for now..as i am breaking up [gonna have to finish part one another time-though i may possibly never get around too it ] .. The memories *sniff*.
'Winning' or 'losing' both positions are 'justified' within both groups of people.. I think thats the point. Name me one group of people that thought 'Meh !!! we could be wrong, but fuck it..lets revolt' or 'Meh !!! they might be right but lets crush them' You might have these kind of thoughts
Yeah, revolution is the best way, the ONLY way to make change. but if youre unorganised or you dont know what youre doing, its not worth the casulties! talking of situations, did you know that the american government has been trying to get Hugo Sanchez out of power in Venezuela, because he's not a leeching fat cat? And in Cuba, you cant fly from the US to Cuba, you cant trade from the US to Cuba, Cuba is cut off from the US, all beacuse Fidel Castro doesnt agree with the american government. Don't you think thats wrong? (Excuse spellings!!)
Eh ?????... I doubt they thought they were going to be defeated when they started. I would imagine the defeated still believe they are 'right'.. They are not justifying there defeat are they... We are talking about the actual cause they happen to be revolting or crushing.
Matt, a revolution is only a revolutiomn when its a popular one. WavyGravy, i know about the venezualan cause, im a member of hands off venezuala, and its hugo chavez btw.
Ok i will go with you [even though i disagree].. whats a unpopular 'whatever' when it is at home then ??.
you could say that i suppose. But if a revolution is not backed by the people, its not what i would call a revolution. Im pretty sure it was lenin that said that...
"Particular obstructive workers who refuse to submit to disciplinary measures will be subject, as non-workers, to discharge and confinement in concentration camps." That dude was bonkers... ''Without a revolutionary theory there cannot be a revolutionary movement.''
I would imagine so.. i did pick out one of his more choice quotes..Though weighing them all up was he right or wrong.. did the populace agree with him.. was he a 'revolutionary'.. I certainly would not have liked to have to 'follow' him..
i would say im a trotskyist, not a leninist. Although, im most likely to call myself a marxist, (although i agree with rosa luxemburg where she diagreed with marx)
