Hi folks, Just wanted to take a second to say hello; I was a regular on this site late 1990s (I remember being in chat here, all night, New Year's 1999-2000) to maybe 2006 or so. Spent many years as a regular in the Chat. Not sure what happened to the years. Or our poisoned fucking culture, for that matter. The chat here was once ragingly popular- a dozen to dozens of people chatting at once sometimes. Someone was always there and ready to chat, any time of day or night. I met real life friends here- attended my first bluegrass festival (a life changing experience) with folks I met in chat here and with whom I still have some contact. I saw people meet, travel together, develop relationships, have kids, the whole freaking bit, directly as a result of the community here on this site. Countless people got real love and support for problems small and large. "And I wish it could be back the other way, but what's dissolved ain't coming back today." I'm going to try to stay in chat a bit and say hi to people so drop in if you want. I may not answer right away but stick around for a few. My own interests include backpacking/camping (spent twelve weekends in the woods last year); invertebrate paleontology; relics of all types; stopping TrumPutin; music of the Americas; playing harmonica; performing magic; watching storms; summer music festivals; traveling. Due to the pandemic, I'm isolating myself as best I can and waiting this out. So far I'm able to do all work functions from home. So you may see me around again just a bit. Stay safe all.
Hey SunLion! I remember seeing your name around here back then. Happy to see you back, and sorry the chat isn't so hot at the moment, but it does have its very active times. We'd love to hear more from you, and your observations on the real world out there... Meanwhile I am also practicing social distancing as a new way of life. The astrology does offer a lot of insight to the current situation vis a vis the virus. If interested you can read a bit about that here: The Astrology of the Covid-19 Virus
Welcome , back - The WWW is a lifeline for those in isolation - and gives a chance for 'mutual' education and enlightenment -be it chat or postings =
Always good when someone returns, I can never understand why so many members close their account without leaving the options open to return at some point in the future.
