Cruz scares me almost as much as Trump.

Trump wants to make us a fascist state and Cruz wants to make us a Christian theocracy.

Any Republican candidate would be horribad for this country (and the world).
    I prefer Kasich... kinda.
I think Trump and Cruz would be dead in the water, while Kasich could stand a chance in the general.
On the other hand, it would be nice if Kasich won... just so that the general election debates would make some kind of sense.

Like, I think a debate between Sanders and Kasich would be a respectable thing.
As in, they could talk... that's it, they could actually talk to each other.

Of course, that would pose a problem come election time, but... it's almost worth it for the breath of fresh air.
(And avoiding the insanity of Drumpf or the evilness of Cruz.)

Just a couple of days ago, John Boehner was saying that if nobody gets >50% of the delegate votes on the first ballot, they should only consider candidates who WERE NOT in the original group of 17 back in the fall! So, just when we thought the clown car was almost empty, we may soon start to see undead political zombies come out of it.

I can't wait for the convention to start! [IMG] The last time we had a crazy one, I was too young to know or care.

So- they're saying that Trump is ruining the republican party. It's about damn time, I say. They've always been for the rich against the poor / middle class and somehow managed to make their decisions/votes/ideas seem somewhat rational. Now that "we" have a fool that is stating theirrational
opinions/ideas right out loud ---without even trying to think them through----engaging mouth before putting brain in gear---and not hewing to
the standard republican lines in some cases----let's hope this world wide embarrassment of a candidate loses big time. The repubs in general do not like and in fact, fear any type of change/progressive ideas. And why not? It's been working quite well for them. It always has and the shit decade that GW and his cohorts gave us and the world, was not the first time that the super rich crashed the economy. It has
    happened
again and again. There just isn't enough money/power for those types and Trump is one of them for sure.

Someone slipped a provision in the recent anti-LGBT law in Mississippi that said women can be fired for wearing pants!! Oh boy--30s here
we come. ( I personally haven't read this--but that's what was on the news this morning)

Well they shot down that idea.

Seems guns are fine in schools, McDonalds, and churches but not at the Republican convention.

The "evil-doers" will be the ones participating in the latest republican fuster-cluck, if history is any indication.

Trump lost Wisconsin, so it looks like an open republican convention that will be pure chaos.

Scary what's happened to the Republican party the last few decades. Whether you agreed with them or not they used to try and make logical arguments and weren't afraid to compromise to get business done. Now they just sound plain crazy.

I blame this on two things. First, southerners started joining the Republican party. I doubt this increased the overall IQ of the party. Then Sarah Palin happened and every gun toting NASCAR fan in the country had an orgasm. Now they are all turning on "the establishment" (I supposed they mean moderate republicans). I may be wrong but I don't see there ever being another republican president in our lifetimes.

It's very likely Republicans will have an open convention now. The first since 76 when Ford shut- down Reagan to win the nomination. Which I found rather surprising at the time because Ford's name was mud politically after he pardoned his best friend Richard Nixon during the late summer of 74, in a classic back- room deal. That made Ford president - but also doomed him politically. To the extent it allowed an unknown peanut farmer from Plains Georgia to become president - simply because he was the ideological opposite of Nixon.

The upcoming Republican convention in Cleveland will be one that future politicial and journalism majors will be studying for decades to come - and it will expose the Republican party once again as totally delusional and dysfunctional.

As for southerners joining the Republican party - you can thank Richard Nixons 68 Southern Strategy for that that allowed Nixon to easily defeat Humphry in 68 - then McGovern in 72.

It's almost like watching WWF wrestling anymore! They are going to drag out and delay the enviable! Milk every cent they can, media and paid interviews down to the wire. But won't change the fact, trumps numbers are steady or rising and they are dragging out the process for money and any chance for a lib/dem to try a last chance effort.

Since they are going to pull this type of bullshit, I can't wait for it to be a free for all in the streets!

No abortions no excuses republicans are the worst kind. I think abortion is an ugly topic and it's my least favorite subject to discuss. I'm pro choice, but the people who abort because they don't like what the gender of their fetus will be, don't deserve a functioning reproductive system.
