I built a sound proof room in a basement I was framing anyways using a staggered framing technique and insulation. It wasnt much more expensive than regular framing. It's a just a room with staggered framing and 5/8 drywall instead of 1/2. The only materials I paid for was the difference between what it would have cost to do normal framing with 1/2 drywall. So far I recorded one band in there and made my money back and then some. Plus I get to jam in there.

I guess I built the studio with the whole ''what's yours is mine and what's mine is ours'' idea. You know, like planning a future and what not... The whole OCD clean freak insanity and constant nagging was certainly not part of the plan here. I wasnt expecting this to turn to shit...

 

We weren't letting the dog on the couch.

Then we started letting him on the couch.

And today, he tried eating a hole into the couch.

He is again banned from the couch.

I just ended every sentence with couch.

Couch.

Man, your dog sounds like he is quite a handful. I think our dogs are the same age too (5 months?).

I dont mean to be a dick or anything, but I have this thing with seemingly all animals where they love me so much that they just want to please me.

When I put his food in front of him, he looks at me before he does anything. He has a look on his face like ''is it cool if I eat this? we're cool right?'' He has never destroyed anything ever. So he wont trash the couch. The reason he is not allowed on the couch is that she is worried he will damage it with his claws (or something). It doesn't really make any sense because the couch is made of material (not leather).

Now don't get me wrong, my girlfriend is a good woman. She's like martha stewart. She cooks and cleans, and never asks me to do any of that because she is very particular about the way she wants it done.

But me, I just left an apartment that was 90% furnished with things I found in the garbage. I keep things clean and tidy, but honestly I dont give a god damn if there's crumbs on my couch or if I wipe the counter with a cloth that was used to wipe the dishes.

She is from a family where her dad is a lawyer AND an engineer with a stay at home mom who had a full time job of keeping things tidy. I come from a ex-military, piss broke, extremely blue-collar family with an alcoholic dad in the worse neighborhood in my city. We had different priorities growing up, that's for damn sure.

Theres alot of things I love about her, but sometimes I wonder if we're just too different. I think she fell for me because of the whole ''bad boy'' appeal or whatever, but can that end up working in the long run?

Still trying to find out I guess...
